All this leather “sling” and static shock. I’m starting to worry about my fellow forum members.

    Merry Christmas everyone!!

The stitched inserts were a special custom order for Santa as they take so much time make (over 2 hours of hand stitching for a set of 4) and probably will only be made as special gifts and not a normal orderable item. This is actually set 2 of 2 and the only other stitched set is in my truck. Normally they look the same just without the stitching. When my laser is back up and running this spring I'll be making these again as well as the keychains.

They're made of 2mm leather plus another 3mm birch backing so I'm pretty sure no static shock will go through. Didn't realize that's a function of the OEM ones.

There are three packages in limbo with the USPS that I don't recognize - me thinks one may be from my SS. Regardless, I wanted to thank @Secret Santa and all of the Tundras.com moderators and peeps. I've always appreciated the site but this year especially. Tundras.com was my 2020 Panic Room - a place I went to escape politics and read some really funny shit. So many of you have so much diverse knowledge and the rest of us are so good at bullshitting... I don't know, it's just been a good mix and a nice escape. Again, Merry Christmas to you all and thank you for making a shitty year tolerable.

None for me but I have two coming from Stamps (due on the 28th) and one from DHL that was supposed to be here on the 24th but it got passed off to USPS and looks like it got sent to and lost in a town about 60 miles from here. Nobody sends me shit so I'm thinking at least one of the three is from my Secretest of Santas.

I didn't realize I had a special edition one. I'm starting to think I needs to keep them inside to avoid messing them up! I liked them before, but now even more bbn knowing they're VERY limited edition versions!:cheers:

    Who actually touches that part?
I only 'touch' them when they blow out of place while cleaning or if I remove them to take the door panel off.

I must have the stitched ones..
    They look great...

Static shock when exiting a vehicle occurs when the humidity is very low, usually in freezing air temps (at least in the South where humidity is usually much higher). It depends on several factors including seat materials and door handle materials. If you have built up a static charge from contact and rubbing the seat during your trip, when you step out onto the ground and touch the vehicle, it can equalize the voltage, generating a static shock. Touching a wool-like material, such as the OEM door handle inserts, has the effect of reducing the accumulated charge on your body, decreasing the likelihood of a static shock.

Static shock is why you're not supposed to get into your vehicle while filling up with gas. The spark from the static shock when you get out is enough to ignite gas fumes if they have accumulated around your door.

Hmmmm I’m gonna have to try this.
I usually grab ahold of the metal door post to ground me to the truck until both feet are on the ground.
