    My best friend had a Honda Accord in high school. He would peg the gas to the floor in neutral and drop it in drive creating an amazing burn-out. He must have done it 20-30 times and it never missed a beat. He continued to drive the thing 6-7 more years and it ran great.

    I had a friend doing the exact same thing with an accord. He also did it with a late 80s maxima and the cars never broke.

    Does anyone else find their Tundra takes a while to start in cold temperatures? My crank time is long. Our Rav4 isn't like this.

    My battery is just shy of 2 years old and it's a high quality Interstate unit.

    Mostly that to this day, Toyota doesn’t prime the fuel system until the key is turned to start the engine. Newer cars just crank faster due to the water thin oil

    I’ve noticed that my truck starts quicker if I let the fuel prime for a few seconds before starting up.

    Honestly I prefer the slower start. Helps prime the oil system

    That doesn’t prime anything.


    But it does lessen the alternator load just a little bit for some reason

    Got caught slipping, been putting off fluid film on the truck because we never get snow, and I need to have the water pump and stuff done. And we ended up with a white Christmas and salted roads :annoyed::bananadead:

    Now I get to crawl under the truck with salt away and a pressure washer before I fluid film it

    Which starter do you have? There is the 1.4kW and the ‘Cold Package’ 2.0kW.

    Mine has the 2.0kW and cranks better in the winter than summer it seems unless my battery is waning which is about every 3 years.
