TECH12VOLTS VS START X REMOTE START

Hey guys,

Looking to get a remote start and heard good things about both, they're also the same price at $199 so wondering if there's any big differences or if anyone would recommend one over the other. Thanks!

 

Not sure if this will help but I just installed the StartX system two days ago, took about 45 mins and works like a charm.

 

I’ve got the Tech12Volts system. I bought the TPMS kit as well so it was 100% plug and play. Very easy install and works great. I also added the My Car Link app, which allows me to start, lock/unlock from my phone. I find I use my phone more than the key fob, but it’s nice to start from the fob when you’re within eyeshot of the truck.

 

Not sure if Start X has an app module add on, but 12 Volt's app add on is amazing. Being able to start the truck from my office and have it warm by the time I get out to it is fantastic. Also easy install and functioning as intended.

 

If customer service and support mean anything to you, go with the Tech12Volt system. I have it in my truck and James is the best at standing behind what he sells. Mine works great and I wouldn't buy anything else.

 

Does it shut off when you open door?

 

It does not shut off when you open the door!!

 

I can sell you my Start X that i don’t use anymore. 100% plug and play unit.

I would not be surprised if they are the same kit.
They both use the same car link app and look identical.
Though from all I have seen here and on the FB James is a stand up fella with stellar customer service.
I’ll be buying from him when I get around to remote start and audio.
