I need some sound help, I am about to order and have them build my 2017 Tundra, I want to get the Platinum Crew Max , and I want to add Tow Mirrors. North Park Toyota says no can do from Factory . They say I can order the Limited and pick the Tow Mirror option for only $ 40.00 bucks but not the Platinum. Also the Platinum is the only one that has the Day time running lights. It sounds crazy to me that they are basically the same truck being built at the same place . Do I just order the platinum and spend $ 900 on the power folding Toyota Tow Mirrors , and will the Tow mirrors work on the Platinum with Blind spot warning, Heat, turn signals etc.

Some dealerships are douches about swapping out parts and adding on.

Id try a few other dealerships if not, go to Roman.

Hey Mike. My understanding is the Limited's mirrors aren't power folding from the factory. I believe they can do that with some sort of wiring, but that's what I understood in choosing my Limited. The Limited has the blind spot monitoring, the heat and the signals on the tow mirrors, but not power fold. Definitely try some other dealerships. Or as stated above, @Roman will set you on the right track. The daytime running lights are on all of them. The Platinum just has the LED running lights, the rest are the orange parking light in the front (still quite bright IMHO). Good luck and welcome!

A little of this and a little of that.
Welcome from Las Vegas Mike. Sorry to hear your dilemma. If I were you I would go with the limited and the mirrors then have eledoblue hook up your headlights for you. After seeing some of these guys' trucks on here you may just want to do that with you headlights anyway.

There's a couple of reasons why they can not be added to the Platinum model when building it straight from Toyota. Not all of the functions will work on the tow mirrors on the Platinum. The little LED lights on the sides of the tow mirrors will not work on Platinum models, and you will lose the BSM. You can add them after the truck is purchased, just know that you will lose those features. Toyota won't add them to a vehicle if they will not completely work with the features the vehicle has.

I ordered my '16 Limited CM with tow mirrors. They do not power fold and BSM was not compatible with the tow mirrors. I sat with the dealer looking at the computer screen while he was ordering. When he put in tow mirrors on the order there was a pop up that stated "tow mirrors are not compatible with package ????" (can't remember what it was called). This package included BSM. I did not look at a Platinum so I have no info for you there.

    See fine print
If your willing to buy aftermarket, this company has tow mirrors compatible with your Platinum. I believe it has bsm, power fold, heat and memory. Only feature you lose is the marker lamp. Signal still works.

You will NOT have BSM. If you order a Limited with the BSM, the option for tow mirrors will not be available. You can add them after the truck is purchased, but you will lose the BSM.

I wrote a letter to Toyota corporate about this, hoping for a response stating they are working on a tow mirror with BSM option, but I got nothing other than "tow mirrors are not compatible w/ BSM." I wonder why this is? Don't other OE manufacturers offer tow mirrors w/ BSM?

I highly doubt they are. These are the same tow mirrors that have been on the Tundra since 2007. As to why, anybody's guess is as good as mine.
