2011-2018 Tundra transmission cooler kits now available. This kit will tie directly into your factory transmission cooler to provide additional cooling efficiency for those owners who need it.

This kit uses the Setrab Series 9, 10 row cooler.

I would have been a couple weeks ago. I actually bought a Setrab 920 and designed a bracket in SolidWorks to mount it.

For others who are considering a transmission cooler for their truck. Setrab is widely regarded to be one of, if not the best for oil cooling in the motorsports world. Le Mans, Baja, Dakar, these Setrab oil coolers have been on winning cars for a long time. I choose to make my own cooler setup using one of their coolers based on recommendations from guys who are serious track-car builders/racers.

Which model did you go with? What year is your truck?

    My truck is a 2020.

I got a Setrab 920 (9 Series, 20 Row, PN 50-920-7612). In hindsight the 915 was probably the better choice for this application, but I wanted to compensate for the efficiency loss due to the lack of ducting/shrouds. Regardless, the thermostat will keep the ATF in the right range.

2011-2018 years have the ATF routed to the condenser, no external cooler.

I am designing a bracket for the 915. The 920 is a little big to design a bracket for where I want to put it.

Where are you planning on locating the 915? Similar location to the Hayden 778 setup you designed or somewhere else?

Okay, I can see how you are trying to mount it.

Mine is going to end up closer to the passenger side, but similar orientation, length wise down with the fittings facing 9 o-clock when you're looking at the front of the truck. I'll get mine installed in the next few weeks hopefully now that I have some time off work. I'll post up pictures at some point. I look forward to seeing your kit.

If anyone is on the fence about a trans cooler kit for their 2019+, this new Setrab kit Nick is working makes it a no brainer. A must buy IMO, I would be buying if I hadn't already designed my own Setrab setup.

The external cooler is stacked on top of the condenser, they are 2 completely different and separate units, just packaging.

I have access to a very small 5-axis CNC mill at work, but it can't handle a part this size. I'll have a local machine shop make my mounting plate. They have a 5-axis water jet and I work with them regularly to make stuff. They should be able to cut my mount next week now that I've had time to finalize all my dimensions/hole locations.

Update: I have a design being fabricated now that will utilize the Setrab Series 9, 10 row cooler. It will be about 2 weeks before it is tested.

I have his kit. I haven’t towed yet, but driving around my truck used to level out around 195. Now it stays at 185. This is unpinned.

The install took about 1 1/2 hours. Mostly looking for my tools. I could do it again in about 30 min. It also uses the stock hose. You just move the horn, mount the cooler, and turn the upper stock hose to the lower part of the cooler and put a new top hose on.

If you are worried about the atf check procedure, I just added fluid to the cooler with a funnel. It took about 1/4 quart. Hardly any came out when I first unhooked the stock hose.

Because it uses the stock hose, I could remove it in about 15 min. Just 2 hoses and clamps and 3 bolts. The dealer would never know it was there.

My thoughts are the stock cooler isn’t that big. It’s just the top few inches of the condenser. This kit adds more surface area for cooling which will help dissipate heat when you are working the truck hard - towing or slow off road driving.

For the price, ease of install, and ability to remove it quickly if you have to go to the dealer for any trans issues, I definitely recommend this kit.
