TRD Skid Plate on 08?

I'm interested in getting easy access to the oil filter and wondering if the Tundra TRD skid plate would fit in my truck. The dealership said it won't, but elsewhere that doesn't necessarily seem to be the case.

I'd like to order this or the RCI before my next oil change, has anyone installed/seen one of these on an early Gen2?

 

I have an 2008 Sequoia that has a 2019 TRD Pro skid plate on it. No issues on the install, I followed the TRD directions and everything was the exact same. Hope this helps.

 

I have the same question for my 2012. RCI has one plate that fits 2007- present. Suggests all bolt holes would align for Gen 2 and Gen 3. The TRD Pro states it's for 2019-2021 and does not fit my 2012. What did you end up doing?
