Shifting question. Just wondering if running 275-65-20 nitto tires would cause my 2016 limited to downshift a lot on normal hyway 75-80 mph. It gets worse with a headwind. Anyone experiencing same or is it normal? Thanks

I don't run Nittos but I do have 35's and haven't really noticed it

How many miles on your truck? Takes time for the ECU to learn your driving patterns.

My 2016 Tacoma shifted like crazy so after that terrible experience my Tundra feels like it only has 1 gear. It didn't take my Tundra near as long to learn my driving

3rd gen Tacomas are an entirely different issue with hunting for gears

Agreed. Apparently they came out with a ECU update to help the shifting but after they did it to mine with 22,000 miles on it (without any improvement) is when I didn't leave without a '17 Tundra of my choice.

Add that to that LCA, rear diff howling, hood rattles, etc. granted, some do not have these issues

more than I can list here
any tire size bigger than stock, or heavier than stock causes tundras to hunt for gears. These trucks want to keep up the revs to keep from having pre-ignition.

10.2/1 compression ratio, 87 octane, 10,000# towing, 6 speed automatic = pre-ignition, unless you're higher up in the rpm.
