I think the black inserts look best on the SSM - the contrast is even better than on white trucks.

I've thought about the black emblems but haven't done any mods yet. Just got the truck last week.

I masked around my chrome emblems for reference first. Next I used heavy fishing line and worked it back and forth (like a saw) until they fell off. Then used a pinstripe eraser wheel to remove the leftover glue. Thoroughly cleaned the surface and applied new emblems. Now with that said they make emblem overlays that cover the chrome. I don't think they look as nice and some say they come off going down the road.

I get the clean look blacking everything out and the thought crossed my mind but I dare to be different. Went with the chrome lettering inserts instead. 22B56BB9-C75E-46B3-B227-D68A571C8979.jpg

Where did you get the black emblems? Did they have the adhesive foam on them?

Been gone for a while, as my wife's small business has been exploding, and since retiring, I now work for her.

    So ... I had this 2018:

    18.jpg

The other day, my wife was like, "Look at this pic of this cool Tundra on the lot," [from where my son works].

I was like, :amen: and :monocle:.

Then, this '21 Limited Crewmax happened:

    21.jpg

Much of this is @chphilo's fault, as I always liked his truck.

Now, I have to make a decision [cuz I am building a huge covered deck on my house and remodeling the entire basement, paying as I go, which restricts my funds right now].

The predator steps will be here Wednesday. [Also, ordered black TUNDRA letters for the tailgate, a MUST HAVE little thing IMO.]

I can either spend money like this [OPTION ONE]: Bilstein 5100s and Falken Wildpeaks [LT285/75/18], and bug deflector [another little, MUST HAVE for me].

Or OPTION TWO, I could Line-X my bed [tragically, the truck came without it, sigh] and buy a high-quality, retractable tonneau cover and a few other smaller odds and ends. [I might just go with a bed mat to save money for a while. This is a horrible idea, right?--cuz it will make my bed rust badly? I don't know, I've never had a bed mat before. Anyone know?]

Or OPTION THREE, get a DECKED system and a tonneau.

    Whatta' ya' all think?

    A few final thoughts:

    • I think I'm keeping the stock exhaust and rims on this one too.
    • I've gone from 6-inch lifts to leveled in the past several years; now, my wife says, "I like the rake better because I can see out more easily." [She's five foot tall; I am much taller and leveled improves my view, I think.] I don't think I can live with the rake long-term, but maybe, I'm growing as a person?
    • Gotta' get window tint at some point.
    Just pondering ...

Beautiful truck! I vote option one but to me a spray on bedliner is a must especially since yours is brand new so I'm conflicted also
