Doors arrived this morning, but no installer as of yet. A couple of the doors were unfortunately on backorder. Finally the tile guy has arrived to start the hallway bathroom, will post some pictures tonight.

Had a Chimney Sweep come out yesterday.
He said our chase was rusty and recommend replacing it.
$1300 to replace it. Anyone have any experience with this?

Rust doesn't burn too well...depends on what their definition of rusty is tho...perhaps put a cap on the chimney top to eliminate future potential rust?

Got my paint done. Just a few small touch ups to complete. Going to finish the electrical tomorrow.

Door installer was able to hang 9 of the interior doors yesterday and removed all the trim pieces. The hinges arrived, but the knobs along with the front door were delayed. We're using the venetian bronze finish for the hardware which is the same as the hardware we chose for the hall bathroom sinks/shower. Still have some alignment to correct and install the trim along with the exterior doors. Tile guy finally made it out yesterday and started hanging the cement board and sealing it up. Tile should start to go on today.

Make sure they finish waterproofing those walls before tiling. There’s no such thing as “mostly” waterproof.

Completely agree. Our master bathroom shower has had a leak for some time due to improper sealing.

A lot of guys will hit the seams and call it good; but why even bother at that point?

Shower leaks are a pain. The only way to fix it usually is a re-do :bananadead:

Yeah, we've left our shower for some time now. It's either leaking where the two walls butt up or at the pan. Curious to see what we find when it's torn out. We'll be starting demo on that after the other bathroom and kitchen are finished.

Cut down this knee wall to cabinet height and having a 42” round granite slab installed. It will be our dining table.
Finished prepping the wall and had template made. Will post pic of finished product when installed.

    Good luck with the remodels!
It'll be a warzone for a while, but all worth it in the end.

Thanks. I figure we're probably at about the 50% mark right now. We started on November 2nd. Had quite a few delays with workers not showing up on time or having to push back the date they could be here. It's very frustrating, but agree it will be worth it in the end. Working from home while a pain during the remodel is also a blessing because we're always here, not needing to take time off to meet anyone at the house, etc. Forgot to post up a picture of the endcaps our contractor welded up for us outside. We have some wooden accent beams that go overhead on the front porch and protrude through the outside. After many years the rain has started to deteriorate the beams one specifically where the rain runs off the shingles directly on top of the wood beam (poor design/placement). He fabbed up some metal endcaps that slide over the beams where they are outside and open to the elements. The caps slid right over the beams and then were sealed up to prevent any water from entering. They will be primered before the exterior gets painted.

Sounds like a lot going on at one time! That's how it goes though, and that snowball effect comes into play for sure.
One thing turns into two, into eight, and so on

The drywall and painters finished, so I put the electrical fixtures all back up and finally got to finish up my upstairs floor. Went with a lighter vinyl flooring vs the darker wood flooring we had before the water damage from the hurricane. Put baseboards back up too. Had to stop for a moment to go get another wax seal for the toilet. But all done and putting stuff back up there for the kids to play with and our little computer station in the corner.

Exactly! That's some of the reason we went with it too. We're happy with it and it has already proven how much it hides from when I swept it. Couldn't see hardly any of it

Nice! Similar to my floor. We are about half way through our downstairs family room.

My 10 year old is pretty dang good at installing tongue and groove flooring!

Just replaced the original 19 year old AC system with a new 16 seer unit. The old coil was rusted and leaking freon, luckily it is cool outside so I had a little time to shop around.

I’ve been repainting the inside of our home room by room. I repainted our guest 1/2 bathroom from the original beige color to blue walls and an off-white ceiling. CFFFB6C6-EF99-4130-BD53-73B6C3D6610B.jpg

Pebble finish installed yesterday, acid wash today, and pool is filling with water.:bananadance:264A9A5E-773F-428E-9A0D-15DD979C475A.jpg

Handles and pulls installed in kitchen. Cabinets are dirty and dusty from some tile repairs, builder has to come back and clean up. Hate installing cabinet handles/pulls, still have 33 more to go, 4 1/2 bathrooms and laundry room.:annoyed: Builder wanted something like $1500 plus, paid $198. Got rid of the stupid white electric outlets on both ends of the island also.

Picked up a back up for my back up. Need to make sure the essentials are still operational.

I also like the fact that it fits under my bed cover and weights 58lbs so I can easily bring it along if needed.

I installed the same pulls ii just wish I would've done something different on the drawers because sometimes your shirt will get caught on the pulls especially by the sink but they look nice !

Used a stud finder and I’m in luck with direction. New table and chairs, now to get the light moved. Will be using an “old work” blue light box to mount the light weight light. Old spot will turn into a pocket light with led like the others.A3E8D859-8174-41DE-8036-F65245C5B1C6.jpg142F0EB9-10B9-480D-96C4-D507355B7442.jpg
