    Ok

Beating my head on a wall here.

    2021 Tundra
    Limited or TRD.

Seems like TRD has less for more money. No power back window (not a big deal but would be useful), gain some fancy shocks and better infotainment which neither matter to me. But doesn't have the chrome which is a big plus.

Now this is limited info I have thus far. Looking for more input here before I make a final decision on which one and bring one home.

    Thanks.

You don’t seem to have many, or even any must haves. Go with the one you like the looks of best. If you don’t like chrome...get the TRD.

If options you can live without or mods you can do after the fact for possibly cheaper, I would go with Limited. This assumes you enjoy spending time working with the truck. If that’s not your thing then you simply need to make your own pros , cons list for each. Either way I bet you ultimately will enjoy whichever you get.

My must haves are double cab, 4wd, preferably army green. Not terribly needy. Lots of crap I can do without, few things are cool to have like the power back window.

But extra 4k just to ditch the chrome is hard to choke down, trying to see if there is anything to be gained in the TRD to justify the extra cost.

I assume you are meaning a TRD Pro and not just the TRD off road package? Going off that here are things I would suggest you consider:

    • The Pro is all cosmetic upgrades besides the suspension. The bed stamp is just about the only thing you cannot add to any other trim later on down the road.

    • If you are willing to put some time and effort into upgrades you could get a TRD Sport to kill the chrome at a much lower price point than a Pro. You can get Katzkinz seats done and probably be cheaper than either the limited or the Pro.

    • Do you plan to swap the suspension out for lift and tires? If so, you are spending a lot of money on that Pro suspension just to take it off the truck.

    • If it'll be a pavement princess then the 20 inch wheels shouldn't bother you much, but if you want to take it off the paved roads then the 18" wheels will ride better and give you more sidewall for obstacles. Also, pretty easy to get other 18" wheels, so it may not be a deciding factor.

Like @HaveFun said, you need to compile your pros and cons list based off your intended use of the truck. If you pop that list and how you plan to use the truck on here you can get more precise feedback, but ultimately you are the one that has to like the truck and the deal.

Not going to be a pavement princess, thats for DAMN SURE lol. We camp, I mountain bike, we kayak and basically live in Centralish Missouri during the summer. Will be doing my best to keep paint from getting scratched

That said, no real lift, maybe minor/leveling later.. Tire swap for sure. 20" hell no. Been looking at posts here showing dropping to 17s to run a bit narrower/more sidewall all terrains.

I really want the army green (if you knew me your be disappointed if I bought anything else lol) which all I have seen in 500 miles is limited and trd. Basically chrome or no chrome. Put the paint a flat/matte and itd match my mountain bikes main frame color. Of course I'm whining about 4k when I have more than that invested in my mountain bike lol.

You guys are addressing what I thought to be true, the TRD is paying for badges more than anything.... not sure I can

You still haven't quite clarified, is it a TRD PRO, or is it a TRD off road or TRD Sport? All of them are listed as having different shocks than others, but the TRD Off Road is a package that can be found on multiple trims.

Also, be careful with 17 inch wheels. Not all of them will fit right and you can wind up knocking the wheel weights off with your calipers. The downside to the Tundra's huge rotors.

Yeah, reading what you intend, probably either one is going to be just fine. Like others have said, the TRD Pro (it's a bit more than just badges) can be recreated on the Limited trim level fairly easily and probably for less money. Well, that is, assuming you don't want the OEM TRD Pro wheels, shocks, and exhaust and skid plate. Those are pretty expensive if you just buy them outright from Toyota.

Army Green is not available in the 2021 TRD Pro, so you'd have to try to find a 2020 or one of the other trim levels in 2021 that do offer it.

Of course, the TRD Pro carries a bit more value in the resale market just because they are slightly more limited in availability.

Not sure what you mean by no power rear window on the TRD (again, I'm assuming Pro until you specify otherwise) unless you're looking at a DC TRD Pro vs a CM Limited.
