The picture of the invoice states May 2017. I don’t see how someone drops coin on a supercharger, leaves it in the box for 3 years, then tries to sell it on CL for a 28% loss.

That doesn t sound that far fetched. I have a few audio components I have yet to install that I ve had for 2 or 3 years. Lately I ve thought about just selling them for cheap just so I can be rid of them.

They dont come up often, but i got my TRD this way. Brand new in unopened box back in 2011 for 4k. Still on the truck and still going strong.

500 mile break-in for the supercharger so that would be the opposite of fun.

 

I got mine delivered for a little over $6,600 from Sparks, but but my truck is a flex fuel so no fuel pump and injectors. $5000 is a great deal as long as it's compleate. Oh and by the way the two boxes are quite heavy.

Ok folks, stick with me on this one. This is not a scam. I like to think that I'm pretty savvy at finding deals and figured id share some holiday cheer .. well, I may have stumbled upon a really solid deal on the SC. Unfortunately, I'm out on this one as I got the "you're being selfish" quip along with a reminder about how I have two little ones in the car all the time. Anyway..

4WP currently is running free shipping and 10% off of orders over $500.. they also sell the Magnuson SC for our trucks. 4WP also has a great price match policy. I have done this for winches (albeit a fraction of the cost of a SC), but you never know. Lastly, eBates has a 10% cash back on orders from 4WP. I've used eBates before when I bought a computer for 10% cash back at dell and sure enough, 3 months later had $130 show up in my Paypal. On top of this add the 2/3% cash back you get from your CC and its not too bad. Without price match you’re at 6k + tax. With a price match you could be under 6k out the door when all is said and done.

Here's how I would attack this if someone is interested.

• Send 4WP an email and ask them to price match the lowest price on the SC. Looks like TRDShop.com has it at $6600 (not sure if it comes with a tune or not, though). If they price match, great, but it's important to keep in mind that checkout needs to be done on your computer/phone. You can also call 4WP after you have purchased and they will provide a refund. Kinda sleezy doing it this way because your percentage off will be larger given the 20% off at the higher price tag and 4WP will be giving you a refund of the difference in price.
• Make sure your eBates session is active when going through checkout
• 
  
• Once your session is active, checkout using the 10% off promo code. It works.. I tried it at full price.
• 
  
• Wait 3 months to get your Big Fat Check refund in your paypal account and enjoy your new SC.

This is a big ticket item so I dont know if their policies hold true across the board, so I cant be held responsible. Proceed with caution.

Submitted a request to price match just to see how far I can take this..
Also, in passing conversation last night my wife made a comment on how I had a large present with my name on it under the tree. My response was "not a big as the supercharger box that's coming in a few days." Her surprisingly calm response "so you did buy it?".. I haven't yet but it sure sounds like a green light to me!

 

So, I sent a price match email (instead of calling) and almost instantly received a response to call a managers direct line. After greeted with a friendly hello, he got straight into it with "if we price match what you sent us, will you purchase it right now?" I got cold feet and told him I would need to think about it.

If they are only going to price match pre-sale over the phone then I am out. I am fairly confident they would do the 10% off on top of the price match (although I dont know) but the other 10% from eBates would be left on the table. So this leaves you with the option of purchasing at the full price shown above and hoping to get compensated for the price match after purchase. A little too much risk for me at this time but maybe someone else is more gutsy and can score the deal.

 

Fuck $6k for one that hasn't even been pulled. Got mine for $3k, just had a buddy in Florida grab one for $4k with everything used too.

 

Did the calculations out. Even at full price I think its a pretty good deal. But I like steals, not deals.


Edit: Just reading through the terms and they don't have to price match when product was purchased with any additional promotion. They have honored both before with the winch, but that was a difference of $40. It probably would get kicked out this time I bet, though, and they wouldn't honor the price match. Difference between buying with the 10% off promotion or price matching is voided as price match is pretty much 10%.

 

Following up on this. This year the SC is more expensive at 7539. 10% off still works (4wp10) and right now cash back is 15%. I did rough calculations and including CC cash back, it would be right at 6k with a 7.5% tax rate. Still too high for the household CFO, though

 

Inflation. The dollar is worth less than it was.

 

Yup! But luckily with the increase in ebates from 10 to 15 percent this year, people in theory could get the super charger for less than last year. Best I could do last year was 6200. I called but they couldnt do the price match with 10% off and ebates too. That’s where they drew the line lol. 6000 flat this year. Win-win all the way around with inflation.
