I saw a pic on Edmunds that showed an under seat storage box. I assume this was aftermarket since I have not seen one listed on the Toyota website. Looked like it had a lid which is what I would want. I much prefer the lay flat with under and behind seat storage like Tacoma had but it looks like all full size trucks are now the fold up style.

This is for a 2nd gen? If it is, you can get a factory (that's with the lid). My 2012 came with it and I ended up not using the lid.

I'm sure @Roman could help you out!

But 3rd gens don't come with one. All aftermarket and not as big as the 2nd gens. Sucks but it is what it is.

We have one for the 3rd gen crewmax. If you have a double cab, Toyota offers a plastic one with lids like the Tacoma that has the option to put a pad lock on it. Ours is made out of aircraft aluminum and has locking lids. It has three separate compartments due to the seat rails in the floor being in the way. You can see it on our website at www.esptruck.com. There is also a link to an installation video there as well.

If I didn't have car seats I would have the metal ESP setup!

I take it the metal one messes up car seat connections? Does the plastic one still allow for a car seat to be installed?

Same question here as I have three car seats across in the rear.

No it doesn't mess up the car seat connection. I think @MotoTundra just meant it's too inconvenient to remove the car seats to get to it so he wouldn't use it and would be a waste of money.

Yup, what @joonbug said, once the car seats are in right, I like to just leave them there as is. I wouldn't be able to access the storage without removing the car seats. As they get bigger and the car seats turn to boosters it won't be a problem.

Sorry I missed this before last post. They understand storage doesn't effect the car seats at all. Just a pain to remove the car seats to access the storage.

yea, totally hear that. I want to use it for those rarely needed items (jumper cables, straps, emergency diapers, etc).

Boosters don't make removing much easier ;) we are 3 weeks away from #3 coming and i've got 12 different seats in the house from Amazon right now and am testing fitting what our best solution to go 3 wide is. Middle seat is f'ing NARROW in terms of being able to get a seat that fits with the belt properly.

Sounds like you have a lot of experience with car seats, haha.
I went with an Undercover Swingcase to store those type items, once I ditch the seats I do plan to go with ESP storage.

Yeah, with the car seats it is a pain to get to, but how often are you getting that stuff out from under there. I don't have car seats right now because my four daughters are all adults but we have one grandson with one due anytime. Whenever we have my grandson, we put him in the wifes 4Runner.o_O That way my truck doesn't get dirty with cookie crumbs, those fishy crackers and all the other crap he can't manage to get into his mouth, lol

Very true. Great minds think alike, I need to put the little ones in my truck though. I did however buy seat protectors that go under and behind the car seat, as well as kick guards to protect the back of my front seats haha.

My wife busts my chops about how OCD I am, I told her my next truck should be leather then I won't need to worry so much (though I'd still do that same stuff). They rarely eat in my truck, and rarely wear shoes in it, haha.

glad I do not have those problems any more. The back seat in my Tacoma was folded up when I bought it. As soon as I got home it went down and other than a trip to Fl it has been down for almost 4 years. Since my backseat will rarely be used I want storage with a lid. The Tacoma has fold down seats which I prefer.

Anyone on here know if there is a single piece container that goes under the DC rear passenger side. I gave away my plastic one full size today because I have a sub box under the double side driver rear

I just saw that you posted here...

Do you guys have a single piece that goes under the passenger backseat that doesn't stretch all the way across?

Look what I just got for $10!!!! I was randomly looking through the local classifieds and saw this for sale for $20. the guy said it had a crack and that he didn't have the "kit" that went with it. I figured for $20 I'd take a look. It did have a crack/broken corner but easily fixed with some epoxy and black spray paint. He offered it for $10 and I said hell yea. The fix was pretty easy and you can't even tell where it was. I can make my own template.. I'm pretty stoked!

Great find. Surprised the guy took it out of his truck.
