Doing the song and dance to hopefully come home with a new Tundra tomorrow. What do you like better-1795 or TRD pro V8? I don’t think I’ll be hauling any big trailers, but you never know.

You most likely can get a better deal on a 1794 and I love mine!

Depends on what interior you like the most imo. I personally like the leather in 1795.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I love my 1794 but the Pro has a different option set, probably better for off-road.

Not sure who is giving you information about those models, but they both have the same engine and tow capacity. Its a difference in trim. Pro has better shocks and costs a significant amount more. Plus you probably won't get any breaks buying a pro since most are sold for more than MSRP.

I'd buy neither. Sport is the sweet spot for me.

    Welcome to the circus.

I've had the 1794 and traded it in for a 2017 Pro. Traded that Pro in for the 2020 Pro. If you need BSM and cooling seats, get the 1794. If you like to giggle every time you hit the gas, get the Pro. I also think the Pro rides better and is more fun to drive. But I could be imagining all that. You won't go wrong with either or any. If you can, take a ride in both and choose from there.

True. But the concern with towing is that with the Pro, because it’s more leveled, it’s more likely to squat without adding some help to the rear.

Ok, we are still working it. Now between limited and 1794. The pro was just a little over the top for me.

1Up, talk me into a sport. My must haves are crewmax, leather heated seats, moonroof, parking assist, and running boards (can add later).

Love my 1794. Love the tan interior. Has all the bells and whistles, and for the price difference when I bought mine, I can add the wheels and suspension and still come in cheaper than a Pro (already added the wheels). Short of cosmetic differences, the only major benefit of the Pro is the suspension and wheels. Pro guys may argue that but many other differences are visuals, bed stamp, badging, blacked out etc. My 1794 has stuff that would be a headache and huge pain in the butt to add to a pro (BSM, parking sonar, perforated seats, dimmable and auto folding side mirrors), whereas adding suspension and wheels is easy. I got my 1794 for about 10K below sticker, and sticker is about 4K below what they were selling the Pro for. Same sticker price, but 4K markup on Pro, 10K discount on mine and better financing rate too for the amount I did finance. Wheels and suspension is 5-6K for the pro flavor. Haven't done suspension yet. Still weighing my options.

Edit: Forgot the Pros also have the TRD Pro Skid plate. First thing I added to my 1794. Their exhaust is also a bit different. The difference functionally is minimal as far as I am aware.

I'm voting for the 1794 because:
    A) I have one.
    B) I've never ridden in another Tundra in my life, except a 2002 SR5 3.4 L, 190 HP Access Cab I had for 18 years. I've been living in "the sticks" where we don't have things like Toyota dealers/Trader Joe's/Starbucks/4-lanes/malls/Wally Worlds.
I truly don't know how the other trim levels ride, perform, or cost. I do know that there's a theoretical MSRP of around $33K for an SR "preacher special" Tundra. I saw a Crewmax version of it (2019, Silver) and it probably had all the functionality of mine (2015) at a 10 or 15 grand discount from what a 2019 1794 would cost new .........but I didn't have a choice. I was at a Ford/Dodge/Chevy dealer with one (1) Tundra & three Tacomas. Came in to get a 4Runner or Tacoma and left w/ a Tundra.

Mine may not be set up as a rock crawler, but I had to drop off some elk hunters 98 miles farther in the sticks November 7th, and knocked off one of the more white-knuckle roads in Idaho. I'll see if I can find some visuals.

    Screenshot 2020-12-14 at 7.52.14 PM.jpg
About 2/3 of the way there on Forest Service road 086. I live at 4,200' and this part of the road was about 9,240'. Did it 4X. Pretty bleak, eh?

Screenshot 2020-12-14 at 7.40.08 PM.jpg You can see some of the road I traveled in the distance. I dropped off the hunters at 8,800' on the part of the road visible in the far distance, just below that big mountain(Sleeping Deer Mtn).

Get a 1794 and make it a pro or upgrade the suspension to something even better......best of both worlds just no stamped letters on the box but you get other things the Pro doesn't have !! But there's nothing wrong with either way you decide. IMG_2500.jpg

1794 if you plan to tow big. The Pro will look squated in the rear with a heavy tongue weight.
