I am interested in seeing what everyone uses for their GPS setup. Aftermarket equipment and accessories with stock head unit? Aftermarket head unit. Hand held GPS? I will be looking to pull the trigger in the near future and am looking for some inspiration. TIA

I use a Garmin on the dash and my phone when I have signal.
Am I the only guy who does not always have a cell signal?

Does the Apple/ Goigle option work for offroad GPS? Are you able to use it for marking hunting/ fishing/ camping spots? Or does that require something else?

Gaia GPS for off-road use. Waze for normal everyday use.

EDIT: I also use the Hondo Garage un-holey mount setup to hold the phone while using the above mentioned.

I use a ProClip phone holder and it’s amazing. It mounts on to the dash and is in the perfect position that you don’t have to look towards the center while driving. It’s above average price for a phone holder and well worth it!

Similar here. Hondo mount + Gaia on the trail. On the highway, Google Maps.

I like to use google maps (CarPlay) and satellite view activated just for the cool factor. I’m easily amused

A very large margin of people in the 3rd gen section do not go anywhere to lose cell signal. I’d venture to say 98%+. Tundra 3rd gen section is more about what new sticker they put on their truck or what new interior trim piece as opposed to people going out into no-mans land and enjoying the great wilderness.
I personally prefer to lose cell signal as frequent as possible. The further away from civilization the better for me.
    I use OnXHunt and Gaia.

Same here and agreed. Its why I use Gaia. In Canada the subscription lets use use maps from Backroads Mapbooks and downloads directly to the device. I always have a paper backup but it’s an excellent system when there is no service.

I also have a old NAVIGON installation from before Garmin bought them. Maps are outdated a bit but great backup if there is no service.

So if I wanted to take my new sticker into the woods, what's the best way to get there?

Back in my early 20's I would go offroading with my dad and some family friends. 25 years later I have the itch again. Kids are older and now I am ready. Just trying to find the best way to get lost. Haha

Car play with Apple Maps for normal stuff. I'm might use the Toyota system occasionally. It actually had the forest service roads I was on last summer, which was impressive. I was a few turns off the main roads in/out of the area. Not sure how complete the Toyota system is...

I also keep a old Garmin GPS Map64 with a (decade old) US database in the lock box with some batteries.
