Protection for tailgate from hitch

    Got a chip from the hitch. Might have to use dr chip fix or whatever . Anyone have any hacks or accessories to mitigate these mishaps?

    My hitch has never damaged my tailgate. No clue how that happens unless the rise on your ball hitch is above where the tailgate drops.

    My ball comes pretty close, but I need to reverse the drop anyway just to improve trailer hitch height. I set up the ball mount for a lower bumper vehicle.

    (1) Best way to avoid damage is to remove the ball mount when not in use, and store it inside the truck. This is especially true if you have an expensive stainless steel ball on the mount.

    (2) If you don't want to bother with removing and storing the ball mount, you can always go with a soft ball cover :D:
