entune weather - changing the city

How do you change the default city for the weather. I can add cities but the main/default city that the app is showing is not near my area and it doesn't let me change it!

 

I think that it is GPS based with data for the nearest city. Mine shows a city that is 20 miles away.

 

There are much bigger cities near by but it likes to pick some not so well known city closer to the dealership. that's why I thought maybe they programed it at the dealership! next time I am in different town will check it again ... thanks for the info!

 

I went on a trip today (100 miles from home) and the city changed, it has to be GPS based, when I got back home it showed the town about 2 miles away. Not sure if it also uses data of my phone like the fuel price app and traffic alerts.

 

Another failure by Toyota in my opinion. Their technology on info- tainment suffers greatly. I live 40 miles north of syracuse ny. The weather gives me a city in Canada!!! wtf?!? Yes! Another stinking country!!!

 

I live n of Syracuse too and mine is also a city in Ontario. Smith falls I think, which is farther away than Syracuse.

 

The weather comes from HD radio. When was the last time you tuned into a fm station?

 

Mine comes from cell coverage. I don’t think there are any hd radio stations in my area. There is a setting for it to use your cell signal.

 

I've been to Canada and it has a nice smell to it. You should go smell Serbia sometime. Yeeesh.

Prob day or two ago. But like Tim replied, not sure any hd radio near me.

 

There’s not even a signal close to me it just stays blank until I drive to what feels like anywhere else. I don’t know which would be worse getting the weather of somewhere else or none at all.

 

Try the setting to use your cell phone if you connect it to your radio.

 

That's right. Toyota Entune app can use your cell phone coverage to get weather and traffic (navigation) if you are outside the HD radio reception.

Traffic and weather come via HD radio. If you have no HD reception the cell phone and Entune app provide extended coverage.

 

I can’t get the app to work with my 17 SR5 non jbl.
