Really hard to find a deal on first gen's nowadays.

 

Reverse light on the dash went out last night, and then came back on? Now its out again.

I'll have to pull everything, and check it when I have time.

 

Was on a Big Hand Model Shoot this week making coin. Gonna try and muster up some energy to Grease The Steering Joint after a few cups O’Dark Roast (like I like my women).

 

Yes it is. We are blessed to have solid rigs that are easy to work on for the most part. I’d rather spend $300 a month on maintenance/improvements than $800/mo. on a taxable turd.

 

Haven't had a chance to test it yet. Do these need time to warm up? Sometimes only one comes on, or they are very dim at first. I'll report back once I've had a chance to do some night driving.

 

Yeah hid ballasts need to warm up before they reach full kelvin. That’s why hid suck to just flash your brights because they won’t be hot enough to put out any light in that split second when you tap your hi beams, only if they are on already can you unleash the furry of the shutter and truly blind someone.

 

Yeah. LED is the future on these Projectors.

These are the options that fit at RockAuto, but for some reason I can't just link to the parts? There is one more listed on there that I edited out of the screenshot because it is the wrong size.

Some of the same items as RA are listed on SummitRacing. I wouldn't mind purchasing from summit because I plan on ordering my sway links from there.

Thoughts? Reccomendations?

 

Are you just trying to consolidate for shipping reasons?
Also, have you tried disconnecting one side of the sway bar; and drive around, see how she feels?
I’m in a DC so it’s more of a limo feel, but my sway bar is flappin in the wind.......and it feels great!
I know it’s not for everyone and some anti-anti-sway bar truthers are out there, but maybe give it a try and see what you think, might save you some coin.

 

That would be ideal, yes. Necessary, not really.

I haven't, and am admittedly scared to do so because evasive action due to deer sometimes needs to be taken.

The next weekend I'm off, and can just put around town I may give it a shot. I like the idea of the sway bar.

 

For the windy backroads I've seen in your dashcam footage, I think you'd enjoy a front anti sway bar upgrade. Ever since I upgraded my front bar I've been tossing it around like it's a sports car! I'm not anti-anti sway bar, removing/disconnecting it will definitely soften the ride, especially off road. For the way I use my Tundra, having an upgraded sway bar make me smile when I drive it, especially when twisty roads are involved!

 

When did they install twisty roads in Gilbert? The 202 interchange doesn’t count!

 

What did you use to upgrade with? I was planning on using the suspension Maxx links, and then replace the frame bushings too since I'm right over 330K now.

This gives me inspiration for a rear sway also.

I used the MOOG kit a few months ago and have no complaints.

 

I checked out the items the mechanic recommended the other day. Transfer case output seal is indeed leaking a bit and the carrier bearing could be replaced.

I'm not really sure why he figures the power steering drive belt needs replacing. Unless I'm looking at the wrong belt (my Haynes manual I'm looking at the right one), it looks fine to me.

 

Picture isn’t focused. Look for checking on the V’s. Or, rub a finger on the V’s and feel and look for excessive black rubber residue.

 

@Professional Hand Model this is the brake fluid you used correct? For some reason I thought yours had a different color cap.

Yes. Thats the Supremõ. Looks to have come down about $1 in price. Read the reviews as just about all of them are positive. Less viscous (less micro air bubbles), longer life, higher boiling point, and better lubricity of the ABS.

Yeah. Mine was gnarly last year and I think it had been on for 5 years? Was a cheapo and started squealing after a year. The Continental (2-3 year belt) I put on last year and just replaced again with the Timing Belt had a lot of rubber wear with little micro cracks. The Gates HD is much thicker and heavier by almost x2. Suppose to be a ‘9 year’ belt.

 

I haven't replaced this belt, and I have no record of the previous owner doing it either. I checked out a video of how to do the job and looks really easy. The only thing that wasn't clear was tightening it back up. Do you just tighten until the belt is tight or is there an actually spec for it?

 

Just let the tensioner drop back on it. No tightening needed.

 

I’d flush/fill with cheaper DOT3 (32oz) first as the first sacrificial flush. Drive the truck for a few weeks and let the Mojo work out the gookies. Follow up with the Supremõ (1 can is just enough). Whether you wait or do it all in one day, I’d still do a sacrificial DOT3 first to blast out the gnar gnar.

 

A flex head ratcheting 14mm wrench is the perfect tool. Lefty turn to release tension off belt. Slip it off. Install new and go left again and slip it over and then release the tension back on.

 

Ok thank you! I will probably rebuild the rear cylinders since I’m there, it doesn’t look to bad to do. So I’ll try your sacrifice method and then rebleed after the mojo has spread.
