I wanted a 29 for the longest time and got tired of trying to find a decent one for under 1000 dollars so I got this. I thought this would scratch that long barrel big bore itch I had but I still feel like I need a blued gun to go next to it in the safe. So I'm probably gonna have to save my pennies and get it a blued brother in 6.5 or 8 inch. Surprisingly the Pachamyr wood laminate grips do not change the comfort level of shooting as much as I thought they would. I have never bothered putting the Hogues it came with back on to take it to the range.

It's a spotting scope with a barrel attached...

It’s just 6.5cm so 1500 is getting near the limit of that chambering. I’ve had it out to 1200 and it ran very well. The rifle is certainly capable, but the trigger puller has good days and bad.

Lots of variables there that have nothing do with what brand the pistol is...might help to provide a little more insight into what your specific question is. :notsure:

Those average velocities - what's the spread and SD? The G43x has a slightly longer barrel (~0.3"), I would expect slightly more velocity out of it compared to the Sig, but other factors like rifling type, chamber dimensions, recoil spring weight (how long battery is maintained) can all have impacts there as well. Reality is, ~70 FPS out of a pistol is pretty negligible difference in velocity between them.

How is your handling of the recoil impulse - any noticeable differences in how you handle each pistol? Do you have the same actual point of impact and group sizes? If you test with some paper targets, are you seeing any stability issues with the bullets (keyholing) from either pistol? Have you run the same test with different types and weights of ammo? How big is your target?

Edit: Just saw your second post.

I've been wanting a full size Glock so I grabbed a 17 G5 that my LGS just got in today. Although I have wanted a 21 for years the price of 45 ACP is ridiculous and I have a fair amount of 9mm. Night sights will come first and I'll go from there.

I've never owned a CZ pistol, but every time I've ever picked one up at a show or store it felt so good in my hand.

I need to breakdown and buy a nice metal framed 9mm CZ pistol......

Love my Gen 2 G21, it shoots like a 22cal.
Had the slide and barrel done in CCR's CPII electroless nickel boron.
Still has the original black internals..

    It's the only 45ACP I own.
    I'd never sell it...

I remember reading about that years ago.
From what I found it wasn't mandatory.
From what I understand they just don't want to mix the older parts with newer ones.
If you replace a part of the firing pin system, replace it all with the newer parts.

I have a few guns I want to keep as original as possible, this Glock and my West German Sigs.
Except for the slide and barrel refinish on the G21, that certainly isn't original. :eek2:

I'm keeping the black parts in this pistol.
It is a range gun anyway...
This almost 30 year old pistol only has 1000 rounds run thru it since it was new.

What I could find on it in case anyone wants to know:

    1992, 6 part Upgrade
    GLOCK, INC. Technical Bulletin #920403
    April 1, 1992

Glock, Inc. announces a production change of the firing pin safety system.
This new firing pin safety system has been installed in all production Glock pistols since November, 1991.
A voluntary upgrade is being offered to maintain the Glock tradition of ensuring that all of our pistols are up to the latest standards in 21st century Glock technology.

Most importantly, the components of the new firing pin safety system are not interchangeable with the components of the old system and Glock will always strive towards maintaining this feature of interchangeability while working to ensure future interchangeability.

The upgraded firing pin safety system consists of: the firing pin, firing pin safety, the extractor, the spring loaded bearing and the trigger bar.
The upgraded system is applicable only to Glock pistols with the following serial number ranges :

Glock 17 - alpha prefix AA - WF
Glock 21 - alpha prefixes through XL
Glock 19 - alpha prefixes through WJ
Glock 22 - alpha prefixes through YA
Glock 20 - alpha prefixes through WW
Glock 23 - alpha prefixes through SK

The upgraded firing pin safety has a new surface finish making it nearly 100% saltwater corrosion resistant.
Also, after rigorous and extensive testing, the new system proves to be more durable and has a longer useful life.
Here, as always, Glock is working toward maintaining its standard of perfection.

Only thing that has stopped me from buying a CZ is I don't care for external manipulated safeties.
But I should probably buy one someday..

    I bought a used Gen 1 17 for nostalgia's sake years ago.
That grip was like holding on to a wet fish with a little sweat in your palm.

I should have kept it as a safe queen..
If it would have been in pristine condition, I may have kept it.

But that was back when I had to sell my least favorite to buy something else and that time, it was my least favorite.

    Now I just buy..:D

I've only seen one of these in the wild and I didn't have the cash to buy it. They're pretty rare from what I've read as the gen 3 came out not too long after it was released
