I am looking at getting a second set of rims and tires on my new '17 SR5 to run in the winter. On Tire Rack they have optional TPMS kit for $50/wheel. Is it worth getting the TPMS kits? Do they work/can they be programmed? What happens without the TPMS? Is it just a light (no big deal) or is it a beat/alarm?

The steel wheels were the non fancy factory wheels, if you have aftermarket wheels on your truck you have alloy wheels. That's a super cheap price for OEM sensors, I have read where some just rotate them for alloy wheels. I'm still trying to find out if there are any adverse effects by doing that, if these are just winter sets for you guys then you could pick up those sensors and rotate to install on alloy wheels.
