Owner not around for me to ask.

Have not seen one with a hood scoop before. Or any hoods for sale with them.

Guessing a custom job. Looked well done.

I myself would like it if a little smaller scoop. IMG_5534.jpg

I can't say I recognize it. I have seen one complete carbon hood with a scoop built in, the name of it escapes me right now (VIS Racing maybe?). That one is a cowl hood and might have just been grafted into the original hood.

Did find this one. Any cons to a fiberglass hood?

No cons really, takes time to fit them and trimming/sanding may be needed. That is the carbon fiber one I mentioned.

Cons to fiberglass hoods: Poor fit and finish, panel gaps, hood latch issues, cracks / spidering of paint, lack of underhood insulation, poor resale / undesirable for most buyers etc.
Pros: design choices, cost, weight (sometimes).

For me, stock hood on this for sure.

Headers make a lot of heat. Would be nice to let it out and prevent heat soak and make a little more power in doing so. I'd rather not go hoodless.

Do what Eun did, then. And maybe add a scoop in the front/lower to push air up into the bay.

I'd love a 2nd gen tacoma hood scoop grafted to my hood and plumbed to my Volant.

I like the look of scoops, but if non functional my take is why bother. I’m only kinda smart, nothing like the teams of Toyota engineers that design these rigs. I think the ram air scoop and hose is ok for performance, but it would suck up the wrong stuff off road and be harder to incorporate the stock(best) filter. I’ve lusted over 3rd gen 4Runner scoop hoods, then my daughter asked me “well what does it do?” I had say just look cool, the look on her face made me reconsider entirely. Happy Sunday folks

I’v got a form for making a dozen louvers. I’d suggest front & center behind the radiator. With enough of a bottom ramp to keep enginebay heat off the windshield. Nobody wants to fight fog when you get to crawling speed.

This is the first time I noticed this FGT so now I need to figure out who owns it.
