New time, I’ll do the Toyota Mark Sumoto Pads as they come with the Sham Wow Shims for around $60 a pair.

Have you considered moving up a size in caliper? Your 00 came with 13WE calipers and many have moved up a size to 13WL. You'll have to trim the dust shield a bit but it's easy.

Personally, I'm running Toyota pads. As hand model mentioned, you can run shims with them. I will say that the pads I bought didn't automatically come with shims, I had to fork out another $25 for those. I'm pleased with the pads. They don't make any noise and bite well.

The TSB I saw said the shims were only for VINs before X and it seems my Tundra (05) doesn't need them. Though I didn't see that TSB until I had bought the shims, and opened the package. I can't find that TSB now though, but I bet PHM has it memorized.

I just replaced all the brakes on my Tundra and for sure the Powerstop Z36 kit seems nice, though I would've preferred to get rotors that weren't slotted/drilled, but we'll see how it holds up.

Couple Options: You make the call (I got the price wrong on the Mark Sumitomo Pads/Shams). TRD Pads come with Shams. Do your work on the proper part #’s.

You are welcome. Like I said above I have the PowerStops Tow Haul which were $40ish. @bmf4069 recco’d the Shams so I rushed out to the Stealer and paid $38 for some shims. This was before the Local Toy Stealer Programme at another location.

Those TuRD Pads/Shim Combos seem enticing, too. Might be performance oriented?

Akebono’s as well here. Normally I run Napa Safety Stops or premium brand pads.

Was thinking the same thing on the Trd combos, might have to try those out.

What's this secret squirrel Stealer Programme you speak of? :spy:

    I go with OEM pads.

I figure I can put some of the money I'm saving by doing this job myself toward better pads and still come out ahead saving money over having someone else do it for me, most likely with less than OEM parts.

Hey sorry for the late response but I double checked my calipers and I guess my grandpa did the recall at some point so I have the 13wl calipers on there now what brakes do I go with? Part number?

I have 75K miles on the original OEM brake pads front and back.
I'll be buying OEM pads and probably new OEM rotors in a few months..
