I've been researching on the new Tundras since I regret trading my '18 last year. It appears (in pictures) that the 2021 TRD Sport Package now includes Automatic Climate Controls that were previously unavailable on the SR5 line. I have been unable to find any documentation to support this as Toyota has not released the '21 brochures yet. Can someone please confirm or debunk this for me? Thanks!

I have a '21 TRD off-road, and it has the auto climate controls.

All the Sports I test drove did as well.

When I placed my order for my Sport, it didn't list anything about auto climate control. IT is suppose to be here mid to late December.
I hope it doesn't come with it. Guess I could switch it out for the manual as I would prefer.

I mean, you could swap out the whole system for a manual one - or you could just push the button for manual controls. :notsure:

I find the Auto system as a whole very annoying whether it is set to manual or not. It requires you to set a temperature, but the air coming out is never the same temperature. It is trying to meet a sensor temperature and will fluctuate.
That's why I prefer the manual controls. I set a certain temp of the air coming out of the vents and it stays that way.

Works perfectly for me, the perfect temp for me is 65 - So I have it set to 65. If it's hotter, it cools down, if it's colder, it warms up. If it's 65 - it does nothing, which is the only annoying time for me - cause I like a little airflow - but then that's when I switch to manual, or open the sunroof and back window. To each their own though.

I don't like it because I like to keep my temp around 68. But I want it higher when I first get in (I live in Ohio) and then i turn it down. And obviously opposite in the summer. So I just choose to not use the auto function and just manually change the temps myself. Not that big of a deal for me. It's not rare for me to have the heat on but the back window down 6 inches lol

I am with @thetastelingers , and not just because he has an awesome GIR avatar:thumbsup:, but because I prefer the old fashioned blue line for cold air and red line for hot. Makes it quick and easy to get what I want by feel of a dial. Now, I don't have and have not used the auto ones in a Tundra. I just generally prefer the old style.

I guess it's personal preference. In all my cars that have auto climate control, I just set the temp for what I want to be and I'm happy. Whether it's 100 degrees or 0 degrees outside, it always seems to work great for me. However if my girlfriend is driving or a passenger, she insists on manually cranking the temp and fan (usually to the max cold or hot...lol).

Any Tundra I've had has the manually controls, and I find it difficult to set it somewhere and just leave it. Always seems to either be blowing slightly too hot or slightly too cold. I'd love the auto system in mine.

I have a friend that will turn the fan on full blast, full hot (or cold depending on weather) until it gets unbearable in the cab, then turn it all off, then repeat when it gets uncomfortable the opposite way. LOL

I know of these people...the same folks who don’t know how to ease into or gently ride the gas or brake pedals. Always accelerating too hard and briefly coasting till they lose momentum and have to mash the pedal again and then braking way too late. A buddy of mine in college drove like this.

Yup, and those people shouldn't be allowed to drive. Accidents waiting to happen.

Yah, and what I love about it over the manual - is that it automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep it at the temperature I like - So I don't end up having hot, or cold air blowing aggressively at me once I'm already comfortable.

Well, I went as far as buying a manual HVAC controls and installing them in the truck. It seems there may be some programming that will need to happen, because the manual controls will not control anything, but the recirculate. I plan on calling the local dealer and see what they think. I'll report with what I find.
