I used to brng itt, but was banned from doing so, so I now have to brot itt.

I can’t get that specific, but expect the industry standard.

lol, I like what you did there, but no.

Don’t jump the gun on the AT4; it may weigh heavy on your mind right now, but the load may be lifted and pay off in the end.

The dogs have caught the scent, but that rabbit is getting away.

    To edit and add:

The rabbit had a Tundra in 2017

    The Rabbit likes Ford Mustangs.

    The Rabbit is named Eric.

And if he still works for Toyota at the San Antonio factory he isn’t very smart to be posting on this forum.

    So it's gonna be...

    -quicker
    -hauls more
    -has more capability (higher towing)
-has a TTV6 hybrid with electric assist
-Coil spring rear end or Independent (not clarified)

Is it gonna have air assist coil springs in the rear?

Is it going to be a 6 speed, 8 speed, or 10 speed? Or 20 speed?

Half ton's are not the trucks of old, they are now cars with beds essentially. If you want a true truck of old you have to get into the HD market. Only a matter of time until someone (Ford would be my guess) goes unibody like Honda.

Im taking this cryptic quote as definitive proof that the new Tundras payload will at least double if not triple or quadruple.

Why? Nothing that was said here is anything other than what has already been said, or speculated, combined with personal preferences of what some of us would or would not like to see on the new Tundras.

Yes’s and no’s can be easily applied based on spy photos and leaked teaser videos that have inundated the previous 19 pages of this thread.

Perhaps I should post an “insider” photo of the new Tundra / Titan prototype for the 7th time?

It can already do that. I want to be able to haul a shuttle and still have payload left over to bring the family.

So you're saying getting a 2021 Chevy 2500 Duramax is a bad idea when this next gen should be able to put up somewhat of a fight?

I don't think any 1/2 ton is comparable to a 3/4 ton diesel. The whole "can't have your cake and eat it too" kind of thing.

I think, based on reading tea leaves of rumors, that towing wise they won't be hugely different - Chevy 2500 has max towing of 18500, Next Gen Tundra sounds like 15000 range. But for payload I think there will still be quite a difference - Chevy 2500 duramax is in 4500 lb range, if the Tundra wants to be there it would have to weigh only 4000 lbs total as I believe Toyota wants to keep it in the class 2A and compete with the other half tons, so I'm thinking the payload will be in the 2500 lb range, max 3000 lbs as I think the truck will be 5000+ lbs with the hybrid battery.

I’m saying it’s a bad idea right now because the official release of the new Tundra is so close; after that, you’ll be able to make a more informed decision.

But remember, I’m going to be inherently biased; Everyone should buy a new Tundra.

I’ll be keeping my 2016 though...

Just for reference, a decently equipped crew cab 4x4 2500HD Duramax’s payload based on the stickers I’ve seen is only ~3,000 pounds. It would be less than that if GM stuck with traditional 3/4 ton GVWR, they increased it over the 10,000 GVWR when they redesigned it.

Because they increased it, it’s over the “commercial” GVWR. There’s verbiage on their website that owners should look into if they need to comply with commercial regulations when buying the 2020+ HD’s. You can option to derate it to 9,999, but then the payload is reduced.

Most 3/4 ton crew cab diesels only have low 2k payload if that. That’s why a lot say if you’re getting the diesel get the 1 ton SRW as the 3/4 diesel payload is typically disappointing.
