    Hey guys,
First post:) I'm a taco guy usually on TW. But had a few members over there ask me to mod their Tundra tail lights. Wondering if there is any interest in LED tails for the big body Yotas?
They are plagued with horrible incandescent bulbs just like our Tacomas. What I like to do is increase the look factor AND light output(safety factor). I have been studying the Tundra tails(even have a set in route to start Prototyping on) and have some ideas such as:
1)B.T.L.M AKA: Black Tail Light Mod
This is where all the chrome from the inside is removed and switched it to a matte black finish
2)Custom LED Brake/running light boards in the upper/lower sections to replace the dim OEM bulbs.
3)Make the middle reverse bucket into an AMBER(yes amber! not RED) turn signal, swithback to WHITE to maintain reverse light.
4)Raptor side glow bar for DRL/Parking light side visibility.

Basically everything I have done on the Tacomas..just for the Tundras.

    talkin about 3rd gens: 2014+
    [IMG]

    Ideas:
Blacked out INSIDE! Not affecting light output . VS spray tint over the OUTSIDE= LESS visibility
    [IMG]

    LED BOARDS:

    Blacked out the right way
    [IMG]

    LEDS!

Here are the different functions; Running light, Brake, Turn, Reverse. Every one is super bright::)

If you guys care to read, here is my build thread

    Those Tacoma tails look sick!

Loving the AR mat and pic rail in the background as well, haha.

Thanks! It have been a long work in progress to enhance every aspect.

And good eye;) When I'm not modding lights, I'm shootin' gats.

Okay, well I guess that settles it! Lol
I already planned on branching out to Tundra and T4R tail lights. Getting sick of starring at all these Tacoma lights...

    None, yet....
Yes, finally something not stupid and gaudy!! I'd be in for a set for sure. Especially if the focus is light output for all functions, including reverse.

    Also, you have a PM.

Those are pretty awesome any idea on the price and turn around times on this. I imagine you are pretty backed up from doing them on Tacomaworld as well.

Interested! Some old school looking taillights like the ones on the back to the future retro Tacoma(LEDs upgrades obviously) would be awesome. But I am open to anything, I am not sure about the out put of the spyder tails.

Exactly. Every aftermarket set I have seen looks like an Autozone Special, and probably performs as such. I strive to look as OEM as possible while boosting light output.
Thanks. No ETA yet. Still toying around with ideas on design for these. NO clue on price.
    And yes, the tacomas have kept me very busy. I just posted a prototype and response was overwelming;

Won't work. Would need to start with a clear lens in order to get the orange tint. I guess you could use an all clear aftermarket for the base.
I think the OEM red tint looks the best. I just hate chrome, and you can see it on the side of the reverse section.

Not sure, just throwing ideas out there. My Tacoma versions will be going for ~$700/pair.
Keep in mind that is with; OEM housings, custom LED panels, Side raptor lights, Switchback reverse/Turn bulbs(and adapter), blacked out, all OEM connectors, T-harness with built in resistors for true PnP.
