I finally have the suspension and tire money but need opinions

I will probley go with the 6112/5160 setup and these are tire sizes I like

35x12.50x18 vs 295/70/18

I will mount them on my SCS SR8
18 X 9 5 X 150 6.00" +25mm

I know the top setting is 2.5" and second is 1.9" on the 6112, with that said would both tires work on either and if I go 2.5" would it sit level or would I need a shackle for that on rear!

Also I like these tires

BFG KO2
TOYO AT II's

Opinions on best all round tire would be thankful, I'm looking for aggressive with solid ride and of course getting a few years out of them! 98% road and maybe 2 dirt!

how about the Toyo R/T ? I have them. Great tires.

 

I think 295 or 35's would look better on a 3/1....cough BOSS cough LOL

I like my Toyo AT's but I'd love some RT's. Heard great things about them

But if not, I've heard BF KO's and Toyo AT's are pretty comparable.

 

K02 has been consumer rated as the best AT tire in its price range on the market. I loved the Duratracs. But I've had a hard time finding them in a wide assortment of sizes.

My vote is K02 for all around versatility. Had them on my work truck and they haul in the snow.

I still have the Toytec/radflow 2.5 with 700lbs coils and 2 boss rear rev on my mind but still can't pull trigger as I don't hear much folks with them but other greats here told me all about them

 

Just looked at them online they are pricey but if worth it, ide say yes!

Do they seem a better tire all round from the ones I mentioned, I did have TOYO open country on my 2010 and got 40000 on them before trading them in 4 years later

 

I have the KO2 on my Nissan Pathfinder and the R/T on the Tundra. The KO2 are rated better in the snow. They make more noise than the R/T though and the R/T really shine in the desert here.

 

Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with Toytec, especially considering their top notch customer service with Jose (comiamifan).

At the risk of this sounding like a marketing pitch, I'm beyond happy with my BOSS setup and seems to be the right decision I made all around.

I'm not saying I wouldn't go Radflo, but they seem more geared towards the off-road life than BOSS is (which seems to be perfectly capable in and of itself) what with the rebuildable aspect of Radflo shocks.

Bilsteins 6112's are good from what I hear and trust me, I'm not trying to frustrate your purchase decisions LOL. I was tempted to go the bilsteins route myself, but I had already eaten a couple hundred on my spacer lift and decided I was going to go with what I researched and found to be the best bang for my buck. OME's were awesome (in terms of bang for the buck) but I loved the adjustability factor of the BOSS setup not to mention the thread adjustable over the clips.

Just my mindset. Your money, your truck brother!! I know plenty people are more than happy with their bilsteins!!

It'll look great either way...it's a tundra!!

Yep. IIRC, it's about 1200 total not including UCA. I just got the fronts by themselves and was planning on buying the rear shocks in a couple months before I fell into the ones I put on today. At first it might feel stiff but after a couple hundred miles of breaking in, you really start to feel the difference. A far cry from spacers from the get go though.

talk to Brian (csuviper) if you decide to go that route, he might be able to help you out some.

 

Csuviper has been an awesome help and showed me it all, just still on the fence, what did you go with in the rears

 

BOSS resi's. I can't comment on how much better they are than the non resi's, but Brian got some himself so I'd hit him up after he installs his, but I'm LOVING mine especially coming from stock shocks with a 1" block.

I'm thinking they were on their last legs anyways....I could compress and depress them by hand but couldn't with the BOSS.

Dumb question, I know the setting are at top with clip 2.5 on the 6112

How would I set the Boss or Toytec Rad being they are different would I order them preset at certain height and if I had a driver or pax side lean would I just screw them to even hieght

Also, I enstalled my TRD Dual exhaust myself, would me installing the front and rear Toytec setup be hard and could I do it alone then take in for alienment!

I have a 3 ton hydraulic jack and large jack stands

I know the BOSS is preset at 3"....not entirely sure about the Rad's, I'd talk to David at Toytec (name on this forum is toyteclifts)

They come with spanner wrenches, but I like to use a thin screwdriver or long Allen wrench that will fit (gives me more thread movement than the spanner when installed) yeah you'd just screw them to the right height as needed.
The fronts suck to install but definitely doable with a buddy and a sixer (i installed my spacer but since I moved to midtown in Memphis, I don't have a driveway anymore) got the local 4wp to install the fronts.
The rears I did myself in the gravel lot behind my house. SO easy even with a stock jack, 4x4 block of wood and jack stands.
