seriously though... not sure if you're 2WD, 4WD, lift? If you're running larger diameter tires my first suggestion would be regearing the differentials. Most bang for your buck.

    1) Optimize your engine. Fuel, spark, and air.

    2) Reduce weight on truck.

    3) Super Charger if you can find one for our trucks anymore...

You're starting with about 245hp, which actually isn't too bad, especially considering the gen1 era of most trucks (early 2000s). Pro Hand Model listed good places to start for engine mods, consider headers and exhaust too. There are a lot of basic mods like that which will give you a little gain in hp without breaking the bank too much. Bottom line is hp costs a lot of money if you want a substantial increase. SCs and turbos are next-level, both in performance and cost. It'll be hard to get over 300hp out of these 4.7s without breaking the bank. I haven't researched and not sure if the 5.7 will swap into these but that might be a cost-effective option if you could obtain the harness, ECU, and drivetrain along with it from a junkyard (ballpark $2500ish?). Just thinking out loud...

The top speed is governed and the ECU will shut you down when you reach that speed.

I used to have a Chevy 3500 that would govern at 110. What's the limiter on these? (I'll never come close)

I had one cheby express maybe 01, that governed at 110 area; only found that once, maybe twice, always on the reservation.
The new cheby express I had to drive for a while, would govern out at 85!!!!!!!!!!!! Like wtf!?!? That was super dangerous at times trying to pass!
It’s weird...... that one went thru 3 tranny rebuilds

But I also put the most miles one the first express, they are strangly great work vehicles, the Econolines always seemed to be junk.

Probably a good thing without suspension or transmission/drivetrain mods. Friction.

In my younger days, I was spending all my money on a GMC Zr2 with a V-6 and found the most "seat of the pants" power i recieved in one mod was an electric fan. Taking the drag of the clutch fan off the crank has very noticeable, especially on low end.

For starters, why would you want more top speed? You'll never use it.

Now that my old man deed is done for the day...

If you want faster acceleration get lower gears. You'll be quicker off the line.

If you want more top speed you have two options.
    1) get a yellerbox and fool your truck to think it os going slower, you should be able to go over the governed +/-107mph
    2) get in touch with Unichip and see if they still have the file to remove the speed limit. It has been done in the past. A

On my '03 Tundra 4.7, I found out that it is only governed while in overdrive( 4 th},turned off the OD and went over 118mph, just watch the rpm's! The truck was very stable at that speed.

Lol my trucks tops out at 92mph before the governor kicks in. Dont really need to be traveling that fast anyways but it would nice to go faster if I wanted to.
