2001 Tundra Cab swap 5vz to 2uz

This is how I envisioned my truck being re-done. If i only had a lift, I would have pulled the body... Fantastic progress..

 

i am also looking for a part number for the 7 pin connector that is in the front door harnesses. my current plan is too get it all together without power windows. I wanna come back in the spring and do the power window conversion. Id rather not be harvesting that connector from my old doors as i feel like that will be a mess and hard to go back.

 

hear is the connector on my dash harness its a gray plug with 7 pins obviouly i need the male side just didnt have any pictures of the door connectors

 

this is what my door connector looks like 4 pins i plan on just repining atm i surly dont wanna hack up my dash harness

 

took a week or so off the truck stuff for the holidays. Going to be cleaning up the chassis today should be doing good with it this coming week

 

went a little crazy with the fluid film

 

i was told at the toyota dealership that i can buy empty electrical connectors. He told me i can find them with the info stamped into them. I am going to stop in today and see if i get anywhere.

 

This would be a perfect time to ditch those old crappy manifolds and install some headers. Just saying.

90980 11740 he came up with this part number for the 7 pin connector in the door but tells me it was discontiuned a few years ago

 

what would be the suggestions for headers

 

mine seemed to be in good shape i do have a purple truck guys lol

Toyota should sell it. But junkyard is the best place to just cut them off and grab

 

I ended up just pulling the pins out of my connectors. Tried too work on the doors for a bit but i need to move forward thats gonna take me some time. That is just something i am gonna have to put on the back burner till the truck is running. I made a little jumper harness ended up fitting nicely and it would be simple too go back.

 

some brake lines made up. Installed the harness in the engine bay. Also installed the steering wheel I needed to swap in the crusie control switch from the 2uz truck as the actual wheel was bent from the tree. Getting closer to putting the cab on

 

it also seems like i have two different color dashboards. Or 2001 vs 2002 thing ?

Someone in the other thread mentioned Gibson. I'm trying to confirm as I don't see them on their website.

 

i need to replace my fuel filter and its probly not going to go well. who knows the diamentions of the fuel line that runs along the frame rail. The guys at the dealer told me i cant buy a new fuel line too old

so long vs short headers what are the reasons for either or

 

I went with short headers off eBay. They fit very well, came with decent gaskets and bolted right up to the stock exhaust kit I bought.

So far, I'm happy with them

 

I'm in a similar situation. The filter looks pretty old, and I avoided replacing it since I didn't want to deal with the potential fuel line issues..

I did find the PN for the main fuel line. 77252-0C012. A quick Google search found a number of Toyota dealerships that show that PN available.

It might be worth it just to see if anyone has that line that could ship it to you.

Im not sure of the size, though..

 

Based off what Keith Carty says, long tubes give more torque and horsepower. Downside is it doesn't bolt right up to existing exhaust and you have to weld new bungs for the O2 sensors.

 

The Gibson headers for first Gen's have been discontinued, someone may have some new old stock laying around. This website shows it, not sure if they actually have it though. https://www.andysautosport.com/headers/toyota_tundra.html
