The live oak - we’ve harvested well over 80lbs of pecans from one of our pecan trees so far this year. The pecan trees tend to “self-prune” which makes them a little dangerous, but damn those pecans are good.

When we bought our home all the walls and ceiling had a flat beige paint on everything. I hate painting because it so boring to me but I’ve been painting for eight days straight. I had to use three sets of scaffolding since our living room ceilings are 20’ tall. I used Sherwin Williams Emerald paint which I highly recommend. I removed the ceiling fan and install structural supports in my attic for the RH 73” iron chandelier. I was able to paint the ceiling, walls & hang the new chandelier all on my own. I put in some long days but the end results made it worth it. 2F30B796-83AF-4EE6-A9B7-8E98A5A904E8.jpg

Here’s the information on the light. I bought ours at the outlets for half the price. I had to buy extra extension rods to drop the fixture lower for our high ceilings.

Beige in homes is like chrome plated plastic on trucks.

Looks one hundred times better sir!

It’s marginally better than stock white if you ask me. Wall paint that is.

See I'd rather have white walls than beige any day!
It could be though, that I grew up in florida where it seemed like everyone's home was the color of sand inside. Beige walls, beige tile, beige carpet.....

We purposely didn’t do white anywhere in the house when we built it. Our last house was ALL white. We did end up with a lot of beige, but also a lot of other colors too. Over the past 15 years, we’ve repainted almost all of it to other colors... very little beige remains but the only “white” is the antique white on some of the ceilings.

I went with a very light kind of greenish-gray on my walls, gray floors, and the trim, ceiling and walls are all white. It seems to work pretty well without being too much, or too stark at the same time.
I bring most of my color in with furniture and rugs.

Yeah, over the years we’ve gone more and more varied. Can’t tell you how many times my wife has painted a room and within a week has painted it again because the color didn’t work. Our living room was once yellow for a few days with white trim... now it’s blueish gray with brown trim. For less than 24 hours our laundry room was sort of a pumpkin orange... now it’s a sage green with white trim. We also add a lot of traditional moldings - I’ve got picture rail in most rooms, chair rail in some (usually with a different color below it), and am starting to add crown too.

Ate some turkey and pie then hung up some X-mas decorations before our next cold front comes in. We don't do much, some tiny wreaths on our light posts and then I have a giant lighted wreath that I put above our porch. On a good day, it's a major pain in the ass. Today was worse. I didn't test it before I hung it and screwed it in place. I stringing up some other lights around the top and my wife yelled up "When are you going to turn on the rest of the wreath. I thought it was a fuse, so I climbed down, found some fuses, climbed back up, changed them out. Still didn't work. I finally decided to cut off the old white lights and restrung it with some colored LEDS I had. I tossed down the end of an extension cord and had my wife tie a step ladder to it so I didn't have the remove the wreath again. All and all, I think it worked out.IMG_1847.jpgIMG_1848.jpgIMG_1849.jpg

We found a box with boxes of unopened Christmas lights from before we owned this house, so I added some more lights to the house last night. That should be it for Christmas light pics from the front of the house.
We purchased an LG OLED a month back - I finally got around to hanging the TV it replaced in my daughters room. It's huge but awesome at the same time.
@trucksareforgirls2 inspired me and I strung lights on the Costco X-mas tree and put the ornaments on. We put it in a corner in our office this year and I wish I would have been doing it that way all along. There are two entrances from the house to it and a catwalk from midway up the stairs that goes into it so it really shows upstairs and down. Next is cleaning the office up.
    A good day, it was.
