What engine? Tow package? Definitely need more info. Is that the dry weight of the trailer? Does it have brakes? Do you have a sway bar or WD hitch? What kind of terrain will you be towing on?

9000 Lb Dry? Even if that's wet and outfitted, that's more than I would ever do with my 5.7L / tow pkg. Tongue weight and truck rear GAWR are the numbers you need to worry most about. @ColoradoTJ - that's Colorado Towing Jesus for those that don't know - but he can only save you if you believe.

On a side note, what the hell is the letters "lite" doing in the name of a 9K lb travel trailer?

Not taking the podium tonight bud. People will figure it out one way or another.

It says lite because it could have been 10000 lbs. lmao. I said the same damn thing with my "lite" trailer.

At that weight either wet or dry, you're in diesel territory. That sounds big for a travel trailer. Any details on it?

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
Theoretically, you could be within the weight limits (GVWR, Tow rating) with that setup. However, in order to stay within the limits it will be difficult. You would only be able to have maybe one other person with you in the truck (that is with a weight distributing hitch), in order to keep the GCWR within its limits. As you can see the Tundra would not be the optimum truck for a trailer that size. Could it pull it around? Sure it could, but you will likely be exceeding the weight ratings. Also the truck's suspension will be sagged substantially, regardless of the hitch (airbags recommended for that load). Some states have laws about weight ratings (that are enforced). In Oklahoma they are not really enforced...

I mean many people are sticklers about staying within "lawful limits" so if that sounds like you I would go with a larger truck (3/4 ton+). A diesel 1 ton truck would be a very reasonable option for the trailer and load you are describing.

It is better to have an over-equipped truck than an under-equipped truck. The Tundra is a great truck but you have to understand its limits. The trailer you are describing is definitely at the top of its limits. However I have seen people pull rigs as large as the trailer you are describing with the Tundra. I talked to one guy about the truck's performance when pulling a 9500 pound trailer and he had no complaints. That was on flat land though (Oklahoma and Kansas).

I would look into the new GMC Sierra 2500/3500s. They are actually rated as more reliable than the Tundra by JDpower, as much as I do not agree with JDpower on may things...
