What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I really love those lights. The only reason why I haven't gotten them is because too many others have had issues and a few have not. Save your receipt. Hopefully they have gotten better.

Just did the anytime fog lights mod.

 

bought them off ebay. they were on my 19 Pro and have been sitting in my garage for a year. I think they look good on the Cement.

It would definitely benefit someone who does a lot of towing more than someone who doesn’t, but it will help keep your transmission temps down regardless!

I’ve attached the instructions I followed for mine. Took about 30 minutes if I recall correctly. My truck is a 2017 - not sure if anything has changed for the newer trucks.

What is the logic behind turning off the fog lamps with high beams on?

 

It has to do with laws regarding the maximum number of forward lights that can be active on a vehicle on the highway, with 4 being the number that is in the law for most states. So with your highbeams on you have Low + High = 4.

 

Threw on my tire swing this morning

 

It was easy money, the hardest part was finding the right terminals cause I didn't want to bend my relay

 

I have had my cooler installed for a few months now and it definitely helps even when not towing. Mostly in town commuting, keeps the pan right around 190 after fully warmed up and my coolant temp usually sits around 195. Before it wasn't uncommon to see 210/220 pan temps in city driving. Where it really shines in the city is those stop and go sessions that would heat up the torque converter temp and heat soak the pan before.

 

Thats pretty much exactly what I’ve seen temp wise!...I do a lot of stop and go driving, along with highway… The highest pan temp I’ve seen so far since installation is 192°...huge improvement

 

Am i missing something or is this a completely different way to do the anytime mod?

 

Do you know what year Toyota stopped putting in a trans cooler?

 

There are a couple of ways to do this mod. But I prefer this way in order to keep from bending your relay. But works great, turns on with my auto, dl, low beams, high beams. And turns off when I turn lights off or truck off.

 

traded mine in on a 2021 Pro in black and then put 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on it
