Brand new 21. Used some non oil based wipes and got some on cluster. Now it won't wipe off. Any suggestions? I have had 4 tundra and all get scratches super easy on that glass. But this is first time I couldn't wipe off excess interior wipe residue.

Maybe isopropyl alcohol? What did you use, like a dash cleaner?

I did the same thing on my '18 except it was a spray. The only thing I found to get it off was olive oil.
Tried alcohol degreaser and reapplying the protectant didnt work
It was very frustrating. I thought I may have etched the plastic it was just overspray though. Needless to say I threw away that protectant.

Interior wipes. For plastic. Non petroleum based.

Yes it did it. I tried a little spot first to see if it would work. I used olive oil dabbed on a paper towel not too much. Rubbed it in gently so I didn't scratch the plastic. It took a couple times to get it all off. Then I used windex to clean the oil off. It could work for you not sure. Worth a try, Half my guage cluster was "fogged" over, I was pretty bummed

It is not glass it is a hard coated plastic. Using anything like rubbing alcohol based solvents will only harm the plastic. Use a soap and water solution to remove it.

The manufacturers don’t have a lot of choice. They can’t use glass and a lot of harder materials due to the hazards they would pose in an accident.flying shards aimed at your face is a bad thing.

My truck is only 6 months old and that plastic is all scratched up. I am gentle with it because I came from a Tacoma and it scratched also but not as bad as the Tundra. I think ever time I look down at the speedo it gets mad or something, turns defiant and scratches itself just to get to me.

Try Plexus. I use it with microfiber and get good results.
