This is correct. I have the trd skid plate with the oil filter panel. It was a port installed option for my truck and I have a TRD off road.

Custom bracket. I now have a different setup. @COMiamiFan will have that bar and bracket soon.

My ‘15 SR5 4x4 DC did not come with a skid plate when I bought it new. I added a TRD Pro skid shortly after I got the truck, though.

My TSS came with the engine one. Thinking about ordering an RCI when I do the first oil change after Toyota Care runs out. I believe the TRD OR has all 3.

I have the rough country light bar and mount but mine stick out more. I like how Sean is more flush.

My 2016 1794 came with a decent skid plate. It's metal and pretty solid.

hello, so a trd pro skid place fits a 2wd, so if thas possible then a rci skid plate should also fit a 2wd. because rci says it wont only 4x4

Hello new to this forum, so I just did my first oil change 30k after the dealerships free oil changes ended and noticed no skid plate covering the oil cartridge. Is this normal or did a technician forget to put it back on during the 20k oil change? Until now I never crawled under to even notice if it was there. 2019 Tundra SR 5.7L

If you have 2WD, you won't have a skid plate. If you have 4WD, Toyota puts that thin "skid plate" on there for the guys that want to go off-road. Frankly, I think it's more for marketing appearance. If you hump a rock with that skid plate, it may keep the rock out of your engine, but it will be "butt-ugly" deformed afterward. Appearance never survives first engagement with the wilderness. Had a skid plate once. :D

So you have 30,000 miles on your truck but never crawled under it? I'm sorry but we can't be friends.

Ah, @Mickydounuts, I think he's messin' with ya. Most of us don't crawl under because we're (1) lazy, (2) old as dirt, or (3) got better things to do.

BTW...Welcome from the Texas Hill Country.

Mine is a 4wd, and I bought it brand new in 2015 with absolutely no skid plate from the dealership. It didn't take me long to add one to it. Rather than get the regular thin one, I splurged and got the TRD Pro aluminum skid plate to protect the front end. Immediately after I installed it, a wooden block got spit out from another vehicle in front of me while on the highway. The block hit the skid with a loud thud at highway speed. When I got home, I could see where it hit, and was glad I got the skid plate for protection. Don't know what sort of damage could've happened had I not had the skid plate. Not sure why Toyota doesn't add at least the thin skid plate on all its Tundras, whether 2wd or 4wd.
