    Something to consider as well, and just bit me in the ass is steel pricing. I "was" going to start my new roll cage, back half with re-skinning my crawler. F-that. October had a huge rise in steel costs.

    Steel prices did as well. It was significant enough to put my project on hold.

    We will look into this, but if you all do not like the pricing, look elsewhere.

    Vendors have same pricing. I’d be hard up to think it’s a big conspiracy to all match pricing rise at the same time. Not saying you’re wrong but seems like 325 is pretty standard for the engine skid. 275 is a good deal, maybe post your receipt?

    You don't have to. I would have been nice to have, I could have purchased it when it was less and still have the funds to purchase it now, but I waited specifically for this sale and am disappointed at what happened and wanted to vent and won't do business with RCI. You won't hear anymore about this from me. I do like this site and have learned many things for my Tundra.

    I know it doesn’t mean much but I do remember comparing to the Victory skids awhile back. Right now the price difference on the engine skid is just $4. I think the difference was bigger than that.

    I paid $394.32 in July for the raw aluminum RCI engine skid plate. This included taxes and shipping. Picture attached since others did not have the information available.

    Current code brings price to $335.75. Once I add shipping to the exact same address the total is $368.41. See second picture attached.

    $394.31-335.75 is $58.56 in savings if I ordered today instead of back in July.

    @ColoradoTJ @Squatting Pigeon. I don’t know if this information will help or not, but it’s factual data on this topic.

    Very true. And hopefully I expressed that point better a few posts down from those. I have no interest in slandering anyone. Was just calling for transparency if it could be proven that the vendors are playing games.

    This is a good point. Shopping a new shed and saw disclaimers about prices going up 15% on quite a few websites due to lumber costs increasing.

    Everything is whacked up right now due to COVID. A friend was having a deck put on and by the time they got around to building it couldn’t get pressure treated deck boards. They ended up putting on TREX for just a fraction more when typically TREX is 2x-3x the cost of lumber deck boards.:notsure:

    I just bought the raw aluminum skid for $359 shipped. Still cheaper than the TRD one. Side note, the price didnt change for the engine/trans skid package (based on the archive link). Maybe they just wanted to focus on getting larger POs instead of more POs. Could also be due to price increase in steel and aluminium. Its easier to absorb the increase with larger priced items by decreasing the margins on those.
