can you plasti dip center bumper?

What's up you all.I want the center black. How are guys doing this?

 

Sure, why not? You can plasti dip pretty much anything.

 

You could just buy a replacement unpainted piece that would look better than plastidip for $100 or so new

 

You can buy that center piece that I outlined without the surrounding part?

 

Trade with somebody...a lot of members are looking for a color matched valance.

 

I thought that was all one piece.

Thanks for the replies. I was actually talking about plasti dipping just the center part on the actual valance and keeping the rest of the valance white. It might look cheesy so Im probably just gonna trade someone for a black valance.

 

Bunch on eBay. They all look like a single piece

Would it be easy to peel plasti dip off plastic valance?

 

It's very, very easy when it hasn't been on a long time. It gets a bit more difficult the longer it stays on (several months), as it dries out / becomes brittle and is harder to pull off in one piece.

 

It is easy to peel, but make sure you put it on thick enough. The thinner it is the more difficult it is to remove.

 

Im in the process of doing my tundra badges now. I think im gonna try it.The center piece sticks out a little like a bumper. If I can mask it right and get a good line it might look good. Anybody else try this and have pics by chance. I think I should order another can before starting. Ill send pictures when I finish.

Yes you can. I have a 2020 SR so no chrome, which I liked but I didn't like the dark grill. I did my hood bulge and grill surround to make sure I liked it. It looks fine. I am thinking about doing my bumper ends next. In the future it will all be painted but it may be a little while down the road. Now the mirror caps I may buy

The problem I’m having is getting a straight line. It doesn’t want to rip straight when I peel it off. Any tips?

 

Pull the tape from a different angle. I would try to pull it back tight against itself when you remove it and it would help but you might have to test try on something first.

 

Back to the drawing board lol.

Yeah I think your right. I’m gonna practice on my Camry. Maybe peeling the tape after 5 minutes after last coat. It’s seems to break on lips and edges. Maybe if use something with some thickness for my lines. Time for a six pack

 

Maybe a sharp razor lightly down the edge of the tape before you pull it?? Just a thought
