I'm not that old, but I remember my brothers first car, a VW Fox only had drivers side mirror. I think the passenger side mirror was an upcharge

We also laughed at the factory pinstipping on his and the GTS badging. We said it was "Got Tons of Speed".

I remember when transmissions had 3 gears. And they were reliable. How’d we survive that?

I know right? The truck I learned to drive in was a ‘62 Chevy with no power steering or brakes and the only nanny was common sense. And I didn’t kill anyone.

My first car had this weird metal button thing on the floor next to the brake pedal. I could never figure out what it did. It was odd because the car didn’t have high beams.

Damn......I forgot....power steering was optional at one point. My dad bought me a 2wd 57 Dodge truck when I was 16. 1971. $250. Straight 6 with a manual tranny. 1st gear was LOW...

Haha, that's funny. I should list out all the times where I had to jerk myself out of a lane because a tractor trailer decided they wanted to be in my lane, to the left of them because they didn't want to slow down for what they were coming up on.

I don't get why everyone is being so glib in this thread. Knee slapping humor around here.

It's not about nanny this, and nanny state that. It's about that one night time maneuver next to a small car with it's small lights, driving in your blind spot, that you just missed seeing.

You definitely need a hug pal. Take your anger, sarcasm and language elsewhere!! Guys like you who turn a real question into a joke and make being on these forums a complete waste of time. Prize for the most insecure goes to you.

I just joined this forum 6 days ago. Got some very helpful suggestions from others and to them I thank you. To the majority however, who have nothing better to do with your time than sit on your collective asses and watch this forum for the opportunity to throw a rude comment out! Fuck you!!! Yeah. Im a hypocrite now. I dropped the F bomb!! This forum has some really great people on it who want to help. You other pricks.. go get a job. Waste of time

I think it went the way it did because of your approach. If you had asked for actual help, 95% of these guys would have helped you. But you didn't - you got on, complained, and the ribbing began. And a lot of the 95% are the same guys that gave you a hard time. (I'm in the 5% because I don't know shit about trucks - just know enough to buy Tundras).
And you aren't a hypocrite. A bit of a potty mouth, but a hypocrite you are not.

So the text and drive package on the Tundra sucks...that's good to know. Glad I don't text and drive.

I will tell you one thing though....the drink and drive package works pretty dam well!

EDIT: They may be the same package...my bad!
