I need to wire another outlet somewhere outfront. The hardwired driveway lights seem to suck it all up as when I plugged in some Xmas lights and misc holiday deco, I popped a fuse for the power supply to Santa. And of course, these are the mini 5a glass fuses that nobody had except Amazon. So now I wait for the delivery lol.

SOOO glad I built my own house 15 yrs ago. Not saying there are still things we're like "WTF were we thinking" (we did just wrap up a full kitchen remodel), but at least I KNOW where all the wiring and plumbing is...

We did a new build, but not custom. I would have added power everywhere lol.

The original owner of our house was an electrician. He didn’t build the house himself, but he built the garage. I have enough outlets and lighting for about 10 garages lol.

I was helping my 70yr old neighbor he wanted a pine tree stump removed. He just had a heart attack a month and his wife had a knee surgery in the same month and I was like hey let’s see what I can do.
The chain saw quit working, then I grabbed my sawzall then that quit working. So I grabbed my maul. Keep in mind at this point the only thing I was thinking was open it up a bit so it drys out over winter.

I started to hit it pretty good that’s when it went down hill. He went and got his sledge hammer and handed it to me. It was about the 10th smack and *TINK* what the???

I looked down at my left forearm and blood was just pouring out. So me and my 6yr old son walked back to the house and my wife wasn’t home called her “ummm can you come home right away I’m bleeding really bad”
Had my 8 year old daughter get a clean towel and a bottle of water. At this point it looked as if I dipped my arm in blood.

Drove myself to the ER as the Dr is checking me out he says don’t freak out(huh?) he looked at the other side of my arm to see if it went all the way thru!?! Then they do an X-ray, yep it’s in there. Dr comes back to do an ultrasound and he said if it’s less then 1 cm I can get it. NOPE that’s wayyy too deep for me to get it. I get sent home for a general surgeon appt, I go that appt and he said “well if you were my brother I’d leave it in there because you see that wall if you cut that wall and looking for something you could hit a wire”
Ok I’ll leave it in for now, maybe I should get a Dr that WONT hit anything!!
Next stop hand surgeon, yep I can get it out no worries, don’t worry about nerve damage it’s really in a good spot for me.
I need it out because my whole arm has pain going up and down the arm.
Next stop surgery like put on a gown surgery?!? Anyways while in there I made sure to let every nurse know my wife accidentally shot me and we need to get this out of my arm. LOL

Anyways it’s out now pain up and down the arm is gone, dr said he had to cut about 1.5 into my muscle and had to dig around to find it. So in about 2 more weeks it will be 100%.

Disclaimer I didn’t know hitting hardened steel with harden steel would do that!?!?

On a side note I’m completely blessed it didn’t hit anyone in the eye, hit my 6yr old or my neighbor who’s on 3 blood thinners!

I'm guessing that's a piece of maul or sledge.

Hiring one with the other can cause chunks to shatter off. It's why wedges are a softer steel so they just mushroom.

Definitely could have ended worse for sure.

Sometimes I look at my kitchen and think "why did we put an outlet every three feet?"
Then I remember our first house. No ceiling lights, and no power anywhere.

Pebble finish. Had plaster on last pool and it was difficult to keep looking nice. Take care of a few 20+ year old pools with pebble finish, and they have held up perfect.

    Question.
Looking to get new floor, one small part, I have a very old dog who doesn't have the control she once had and the floor has soaked up her urine and starting to buck up. I have both Pergo and Armstrong, (installed about 12 years ago) the floating laminate that locks together. I want something that is actually water proof and can take a wet mop for cleaning. The flooring company I'm talking to says they have a new type of laminate that is water proof but it's the same interlocking stuff (don't have a brand name yet). They came by and got measurements yesterday.

Anyone have suggestions, advice on which way to go?

you can always go with luxury vinyl laminate flooring. i just ordered some. it claims you can have it wet for like 72 hours and it still won't affect anything.
