i took a quick look at mine last night. pretty sure they were smoking crack. rotors are fine. just the faintest lip on the edge, barely even noticeable. pads also have life in them still. new ebc yellow stuff pads for the front are $170 and the rears are about 90. truck is parked for awhile so it's not high on my list.

the more important thing for me to fix right now is yanking out the xfaktr dual battery tray...

I usually replace everything. Rotors and pads... Last time I had the rotors turned on a dealership got ripped off. I learned from that one lol...

Next time I'll do StopTech rotors and Hawk HD pads.

when I replaced mine I did all 4 corners.

    StopTech slotted sport rotors
    Posi Quiet ceramic brake pads

so far so good after 2 years. better braking power and no dust

I think its been a few years, i'm curious when you installed your cab rack, how did you make sure you didn't hit the side curtain airbags???

    by going very slowly...

the roof channel where you drill the holes is to the inside of the side air bags. there's about an inch, maybe a bit more, of clearance.

    here we go...

    5EFFF514-CCF2-40AA-A180-C25205B3C772.jpg

mobile production studio is almost live. just testing to see if my solar system had enough power. it does. battery monitor in the truck currently says almost 13.5 hours with everything at idle. when the fridge kicks in, it drops to 9ish.

still need to test a few things (cameras, recording, audio, live stream) but, super stoked right now. basic setup and configuration were quick and easy.

so, who wants to hire me?

i have 2 100w panels on the cab rack which fit perfectly between the prinsu rails. everything else (inverter, 170Ah battery, switch panel) is in the bed.

a giant weight has been lifted. day job just ended. like 5 minutes ago. going to take a few weeks to breathe, remember who i really am and what i'm really supposed to be doing. after that, it's full steam ahead on the studio.

nothing to be sorry for. it was time. we'll be okay. the savings are there. the studio has been running. it's just time to get on the ball and really find some consistent clients.

well, i don't want to jinx anything but, i let a few people know that i was full time on the studio. i now have a small editing project over the next couple of weeks, booked solid in december creating social media promo stories as well as a small live performance recording, then booked for two more live performance recordings in january.

it's too soon to get super stoked but i am hopefully optimistic for the first time in a long time. feels weird. :)

Funny. I was cut end of March. I got sooo much done around the house, and finally had time to be with the kids. I turned down multiple offers until I found a company that I wanted to be with.
I accepted their offer Thursday evening. Love it! Finally. Work from home when needed, company fuel and cc, pick out whatever equipment I want / need off Amazon. Much happier! Good on you, brother. Your photography is top notch and any client is lucky to have you.

been awhile since i’ve done anything to the truck. a few little bits have gone on but these just arrived.

    6C53E9E7-69CD-4F41-A215-FF40F24B00B6.jpg

been waiting awhile for the Bluetooth module for my mppt. the version i have with the dc-dc charger wasn’t compatible with the old module.

the communication hub is kinda cool though. i can plug in my inverter and mppt to the hub then plug the hub to the module. now, i’ll be able to monitor both at the same time.

one last effort to keep my aging macpro relevant...

    176699C4-8E24-44C1-966F-F959828DA096.jpg

this will be the third, and probably final, cpu upgrade. jumping from dual 3.06 xeons to dual 3.46. have been maxed out on ram (128gb) for awhile. also jumping from a Radeon rx580 8gb to a Radeon vega frontier 16gb. the frontier requires a power supply hack but it’s just a few positaps and some new cable.

hopefully that’ll hold for awhile. next step is a gigabit card and a qnap nas box. very quickly running out of storage...
