Just read the last part of this thread as I wander through this site. Sounds like I can empathize with Adam and Green Thunder. I’m not the most socially adept person either, and typically would rather not have to sit and “talk” (or listen) to people ramble on about things I don’t really have any interest in. On the flip side, if someone taps into a topic I do have interest in, then I tend to not shut up.

Hope the vacation is as relaxing as it can be...at least you should be able to get some good BBQ in Texas, and a little warm weather.

What’s up people. Haven’t been around for a few days. Work and family have been taking up my time. Not a bad thing, but just nutty busy. Plus, I decided to re-watch all four seasons of The Expanse. Man, I love that series. I’ve been crawling into bed early just to watch a few episodes without all the distractions.

Found myself looking at Nissan Leafs this week. A very intriguing second car option with my son turning 16 in a few weeks. Phuk I’m getting old.

I have the audio books of the series. Love the show too! Looking forward to Season 5 and will binge watch 1-4 before season 5 rolls out. Also looking forward to the Dune movie since I've listened to the entire series of Dune on Audible. My weekends consist of going fishing, listening to a good audio book and getting bit by mosquitos...how boring?

Nice! I finished season 4 last night. Ready when season 5 drops med-December.

I’ve been reading the series as well. I’m on the 6th or 7th book and it is boring me to death. Never done an audio book, but my kids listen to them all the time. Need to try one out sometime.

Never followed the Dune series; I should check that out...thx

For the record, Jason @War Machine and I both enjoyed not meeting.

I think I can speak for both of us when I say it was very comfortable. No awkward silences, and we both felt we were free to do as we wished without worry of the other feeling ignored.

Heck, we might even agree to not meet the next time I'm down in Texas.

10/10 would recommend not meeting people.

 

I agree. Really enjoyed not spending any time with you. If I ever get up to Wyoming, we can not do it again.

I appreciate where you're coming from, Jim. I truly do. My comment was more for laughs than anything. It was a fairly full trip for me as is, and I know that Jason and I have similar antisocial tendencies. Were we to have to meet up we could be pleasant and polite, and possibly even enjoy it. It might be a terrible personality clash, too.

These types of things are best left to group meetings so you can blunt any one personality that might be too strong. It allows for an easier egress from people as well. Counter intuitive, but better for those of us who with social anxiety and antisocial personalities.

I always say "Never meet your heroes", even if they were an underrated Avenger.

 

Jim's going to take that to mean he should host a Tundras block party.
