What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Check out my build page for pics on the wall for reference. I did have to slightly aim mine down which the pics show. Also, I use my Fog Lights ALL THE TIME without any flash backs. Fogs Housings are specially designed for super wide low to ground type beams.

first car when i was 16... sooo 8 years now? its been torn apart for 4 as of may... im taking a week off in december to try and get it going again with a spare engine to test some cams. and i have a few parts on the way for the frame (fuel tank, Straps, axle brake lines and junction, calipers hopefully will be powder coated, get the front diff all painted, probably order some CV axles that are nice and fresh looking OEMs..) i want it to be ready for the engine and trans...

 

I'll allow.it. I can't wait to see the taco complete.

Just bought the skidrow plates since they were on sale.

Also just built a new pc for the nerds in the thread.

Temporarily have an amd 3600x and 2-5700xt until I can get my hands on 5950x and 2 6900xt or 6800xt...I game (csgo) but also mine crypto when not gaming which is 99% of the day. Have 15 gpus currently mining ethereum.

 

I need to get on this foglight anytime mod. 1.) Here is the lows with fogs.

2.) Here is the high beams with light bar.

3.) Here is high beams, light bar, and fogs.

Well, the lights I ordered for the ditch light brackets weren't as bright as I thought. Since I actually have them on hand I went out, and toyed around with hidden rear light pods tied into the reverse lights.

In all these photos its just dry fitted with a pair of locking visegrips to give me, and you an idea of what it looks like. Powered by a little ole battery I have laying around for testing purposes.

The next four photos are probably the easiest to mount. Using a bumper bolt circled in white to mount them, but that seems like low hanging fruit to me.


The next picture is with the light dry fitted to my tow hitch support. I actually kinda like this one better. Hidden, even though I lose a little light to the inside of the truck.


Thoughts?

 

could you flush mount them in the bumper itself?

 

I replaced the belt molding on my '02 RCLB this afternoon, don't worry about breaking the old white plastic retaining clips - carefully remove what remains clipped to the door before installing the new ones. I noticed that the rubber coating the aluminum body appears to be thicker than the original. I will wipe them down with ATP

I've thought about doing flush mount pods, but with the ones I currently have that would be impossible with how the munts/face of these lights are.

Just trying ideas since I have these on hand.

Edit: I'm definitely not against doing that. (When I re-read my post it kinda sounds like I'm against it. To me anyways.)

 

Mount them off of or into the steak bed pockets, use some of those fancy quick connectors you got if you ever need to load the bed or something?

Under the plastic along the top edges of the bed. There is ahole at front and rear of the rail. Intended to put steak in the hole to build walls. Like landscapers tend to do.

 

Oh. I never knew what those were called. Always just called em bed side holes.

 

On Fantasy Island, we call them bed rail holes.

Steaks are what you buy at the Slaughter House. Stakes are what you use to keep your Pole Beans from sagging on the ground.
