Correct. Window visor on passenger side. Much rather lose the visors than any piece of glass.

Rolling 55 at night in 45 mph winds. Its hard to see a black cable in the driving rain. You know that aluminum crimp block that joins two cables together, or makes a loop?

I'm speculating that is what damaged the window visor

I hit a falling branch in a storm with my Tacoma some years back. I lost the antenna, snapped clean off.

Antenna was saved luckily.

Most locals say I have no accent, but 90% of the local are yee-yee hee-hawls. So compared to them, and their telephone pole family tree... yeah, I guess I have no accent.

It changes based on who I'm around. If I'm comfy the accent will be more prevalent. If I'm at work I lose the accent. Subconscious things. Weird.

That sounds like a winner to me. Good way to test a new to me product.

 

Installed my new katanas with the additional resistor so my fogs would function properly. Good cutoff line with some light scatter. Had the same issue with halogens. I believe it's the aftermarket China housings. I'll adjust if I get people flashing me.

Yea that artifacting looks to be from poor reflector designs.

 

Great dashcam videos you've been posting! I can't help but notice how bright your headlights are. What are you running? Are they low beam or high beam in the videos?

 

Fuel filter and backup camera.

Backup camera is a 'type s' that a relative bought, never installed and then gave me when he bought a car with a backup cam. Works good for now, we will see. Zip ties tucked in the side of the radio work nice for wire management. Not super pretty, have not checked to see if I can pair it with a new head unit when I finally do that, probably not but the price and effort levels were right.

Fuel filter is an AC Delco from Rock Auto. I threw it in the cart when I bought my O2 sensors. The clamp on the old one was not moving, and this is not the place for heat , so I removed the bracket. The line fittings came off nice and smoothly though. Apparently I don't have metric open ended wrenches bigger than 13mm.



A couple thoughts:
I have not done a fuel filter before, so I was surprised that the line from the tank side ran fuel the whole time it was detached. That was fun while I worked the old bracket and filter off...probably could get a cap and cap it next time. I had a catch pan, and only lost a half gallon, a dollar.

I swear the truck runs smoother. It's in my head, I know it is. Some nasty colored fuel dribbled out of the old filter, and it's nice to be working on preventative tasks on this truck rather than fixing broken stuff!

 

I would highly encourage you do not drive with those fogs on in traffic.

Low beams are supplemented with the fog lights while high beams are supplemented by the light bar.

When I first got it, I took the end caps off to inspect the water proofing which wasn't all that great... I squirted some flex shot between the cap, and seal. Then between the seal, and the internals of the bar.

Never took the lens off, and I had clear flex shot laying around which is why I smooged it in there. I figured it was $40 bar and I wasn't expecting much of it. I'm really happy with it. Big gurl says I bought this on Jan 23rd 2020.

How well does your Fuze tube last before it totally hardens in the nozzle/tip?

 

Did the EZ Lift torsion bar installation this weekend for the tailgate. Thanks again for the heads up on that mod! Seriously loving how easy it is to raise and lower the tailgate now. Easily one handed with hardly any effort.

OME 2885 - 2 to 2.25 Inches

It's taken me days to get caught up in here to tell you all I finally ordered the new knock sensor, flying leads to rebuild its harness, intake manifold seals, and DD 12-hole injectors.
Oddly enough, I was planning to buy the Airaid Jr intake tube too....but it's NLA. The K&N version is another $100 and comes with a stupid oiled cone/pyramid filter. I'm not as sold on that one as the Airaid unit.

Also, I've seen the recent discussion about air filters and have only this to add.

Others have noted the oiled filters leave more dust/residue in the intake tube and on the TB.
I wonder if that's because the dust/detritus gets oil on it as it passes through the filter and then sticks to the tube/TB vs the dry filters that would not oil the escaped particles. I contend the dry filters don't run cleaner so much as they allow the engine to consume more of the bits that get through.

Thoughts?

 

Any particular reason why?

 

The cutoff appears to be at least waist-high from your photo (door knob reference). Downgradient, oncoming traffic will have a full projector pointing straight at their faces just like modern headlights. Low vehicles also seem to take projectors straight to the rearview mirror(s) often. That coupled with your headlights is just asking for people to blind you with their high beams and/or give you the bird. I think they'd be great offroad or in zero traffic night situations, but personally I do not see the purpose of driving with your fog lights on in traffic in general. I say all of this with respect, of course. Not harping on your setup, just looking out for you and others (or at least trying).

I was going to put my new skid plate on. Looks like I should’ve inspected first. Support piece seems bent away from the rest. Was going to chase the threads, they’re fairly rusty.

Found some rocks I can’t remove either. Not 100% sure how they got in there in the first place!

 

I promised I wouldn't talk about the tube anymore . But did you check the links I provided a few days back?

Someone's got one in the where house. Or.just buy the full kit and just.use the tube, it's the same thing both said modular intake tube. Btw none of the other gen models say that... so it's gotta work.

 

I have not adjusted the height of the headlights. Not sure what the height of my beam is supposed to be at 20-25 ft away from the wall.. let me know if you do. Still not sure why I should drive with my fogs on? Not that I do any more than the average person. I just have a regular headlights housing with led like the millions of drivers here in CA.
