Great video! Made me think of things that I hadn't taken into consideration when it comes to buying a travel trailer. Ya, you might be able to pull it but can you steer it or stop it

 

I have a 32’ trailer that I bought last year. We got in 9 trips this year and I am currently working on getting an HD truck. It does ok with basic in-state trips but is clearly overmatched for the long trips. This is with a high quality WDH and I never carry water. Not feasible to do what you have described and still be within the payload specs. When you get to the hills or run into significant wind it will be a very uneasy situation. If something bad does happen you can be at fault for being overloaded.

 

For what that probably costs you could buy a well used 1 ton HD dually and be a lot happier going down the road.

 

I would echo most everyone on here. You need a new truck or a much smaller set up.

 

If you're from a state that allows triples then you'd be good to go. I've seen several like that in the south, some of them are motorized. You unhook and then drive the trailer into its spot. Lots of triples set ups down here.

 

I've never seen anything like this before. Just looks odd. If the added fifth wheel carrier was motorized I could see it being handy to back in the 5th wheel in tight situations.

 

Look up the Mr. Trailer safety hitch. I think that's what it is.

The only advantage to that would be to keep the payload off the truck but I would rather spend the money on a more capable truck.

 

I think I agree. The added length would be unmanageable for anything remotely off road. No clue what they cost, either. I imagine they are not cheap.

It's not like a triple. It can lock to back as normal. Read the info in the link posted previously.
