I'm totally against this nostalgic b.s. he's preaching. They make some dope ass ricer tails for this I'm sure. I'd go that route.

05-06 or Depo red/clears because they're the cleanest looking and reminiscent of the T100 and 3rd gen 4runner tails. I had some depos on my 99 taco
    2013-02-25_17-57-37_419.jpg
As you can see another fun option is to buy red night shade and spray that candy all over the amber. I've yet to see it done on a tundra. would look clean af.

I wish they'd make these for our trucks. I used to see em on all kinds of trucks in the 90s. Now it seems it's just 2nd and turd gen tacos. I never was able to find one for my first gen tacos either.Screenshot_20201115-205741_Chrome.jpg

I dont mind them too much, just with my snugtop on they look weirdly small. Also the black plastic that lines them is really faded.

Agreed. Maybe you should fab something up. I'd be interested, but I don't have a break to bend everything to shape.

Yeah I don't have any metal fab skills or tools like that. The fanciest tools I have are a drill press and some power saws, drills etc

If I still had access to my fathers old workshop at the place he worked at, tailgate pieces would be easy as cake.

But alas, they closed and the 6 foot 50 ton press brake was a little to big for me to buy at auction (it went for all of 1,200 too...)

Shooting star video will be REALLY hard to see if your brightness is low, or if you're viewing on mobile

Its on the left side of the road just above the trees, sorta. About 15 seconds in the video.

Hopefully, your view of the video isn't this grainy.

Well, my light pods I ordered came in. They aren't as bright as I was expecting. Looked at the advert, and I missed where it said they were 1,200 lumens. Not super bright like I thought.

I'll see if I can mount them under the rear of the truck all sneaky beaky like. Tie them into the reverse lights and they should do a good job in that location.

Ordered another brighter combo set of flood/spot. We'll see.

I think this really depends on the color of truck. Some colors I think lend themselves better to a red and white lens, but on black trucks that amber really pops. I would keep them as well.

This is one of those things that literally no one is going to notice but you. Random people are not going to look at your taillights and think "man it would be so much cooler if he had amber lenses". If you want to swap them, do it. I seem to be a in a grave yard desert for 1st gens so I rarely see any parts I can snag. If I found any taillights I would grab them.
