Was out riding around parts of the Blue Ridge today, and took a small detour around Roanoke. I went down by the river in the truck, paved road that was a little steep but two wheel drive no issues. Then I stopped to eat a few minutes later and noticed the center console of my truck was so damn hot my cell phone felt like it was on fire. At first i Thought maybe the phone was overheating but then I notice it was from the console itself. I have a console safe and it was hot to touch, I am talking very hot. Parked truck for about 30 minutes while I ate dinner and it went away. HAs anyone else ever noticed anything like this. I did not notice any high temps and no warning lights, just the center console was hot enough that felt like it could have easily started a fire.

No bueno man, pretty sure some HVAC runs through there. Ya think the hot air next to the steel safe is the issue?

Did have the heat going while riding around with windows down. It hasn't done it again. BUt did do several hours of driving along the blue ridge, so the HVAC could be a possibility. Will have to try and duplicate again next weekend and see if.can figure out anything.

Only thing I can think of is the HVAC. So some testing... run your heat and see if it gets hot and then run the AC. I live near Roanoke, welcome to the area. :hattip:
