I am looking at getting a new set of wheels for for 2014 Tundra and cant decide between going with 17" or sticking with the 18". I am leaning towards a set of bronze Icon Alloy 17" Rebounds with 25 offset. I also like the Enkei Commandeer 18" with 25 offset in bronze.

    What do you guys think?

Bronze is the new black! I'm running 20" Roosts, but if I was wheeling my truck and doing overland-type stuff, I'd be leaning toward 17s just to have that extra sidewall that comes with a big beefy tire.

I'd go 17" in a heartbeat, but I do a fair bit of off road travel with my pickup.

Make sure the 17s will clear your calipers, may depend on the wheel design and where they have to but any weights needed.

Just ordered a set of 17 Icon Rebounds myself in titanium.. switching over from 18” methods. The icon 17” wheels were designed nicely for our trucks, the wheel has enough room for the caliper and balancing weights. Though if your not really wheeling, it doesn’t really matter.. it is only 1/2” extra sidewall on each side.
I went with 17” wheels because after the initial investments of the new wheels, the tires are cheaper, especially the bigger tires.

I think the 17" have it. Truck spends a lot of time on and in the dirt. Will post some pictures when they are mounted.

Good choice. 17s are definitely better if you're using the truck in the dirt. And, like Colin said, tires are cheaper.

I say if you can't decide between 17's or 18's you should just go 20's :bananadance:

17" no doubt. There's no advantage to larger wheels other than bigger brakes, however, you can always get better brakes that fit 17".

Hey guys which lugs should I be running with the Icon Rebounds?

I am looking at these from Wheelers.

Don’t think you need splined.. just the basic Acorn ones should be perfect.. just got my rebounds installed today so was doing the same research awhile back.. unfortunately it seems wheelers doesn’t have them in stock anymore :annoyed:

From my internet warrior 3rd party perspective i believe you want a standard acorn style lug for icon wheels.

Check out post #29 in here:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/help-icon-lug-recommendation-6-speed.56547/

My Icon Six Speeds are lug centric, but i believe your rebounds are hub centric so i don't know that it is AS crucial, still the link above references communication from Icon i believe.

My 2017 came with 20's - I changed to 17's and happy. I went with Method 701s in black; 0 offset. I prefer the subdued look and the 0 offset looks badass. Had balance weights placed on edge away from calipers- all good.

I ran ET lug nuts from Discount Tire for awhile with no problems. However, when I later found this thread:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/extended-lugs-broke.63147/

I immediately switched and went with the acorn style from Wheelers. The only problem I found with the acorn style lug nuts is that my crossbar lug wrench wouldn't fit through the little lug holes in my Icon Rebounds. I had to get a thin-walled socket in there to loosen or tighten them.

Oh, and just to add, I ran the ETs with Discount Tire's MB352 wheels and later for a short time with the Icon Rebounds I have on now. Again, no issues with them breaking like in the thread I posted above, but that experience was disconcerting enough for me to reconsider and use the acorns instead for the Icon Rebounds.

    :eek2: talk about a :crapstorm:

I think the ProComps' ET part of the nut don't even touch the bores (at least on Icons) so breaking them shouldn't be a nightmare... I'll confirm later today, but Im 99% sure they don't.

That’s one of the main reasons I switched to 17s.
