I’ve found once you replace the bearings, 90% chance your going to get failure within 100k

Because it used to be strictly TRD Off Road. But that just meant you got an elocker and bilstein a if you had a first gen Taco PreRunner But now there's TRD Sport, TRD Pro etc

I almost bought a Limited Tundra 4x4 with VSC. It had literally every option...but not the TRD package. It was too rusty so I passed...I'm glad I did. I didn't realize how problematic VSC could be at the time.

    upload_2020-11-11_13-53-32.jpg

I think it was available on AC too....Vehicle Stability Control which incorporated an electronic "LSD" function as well as traction control used the brakes and ignition to achieve the desired result. The system meant the brakes are complicated with expensive electronic parts that can go bad.

Roll Sensing Curtain Airbag sensing...turns your side curtain airbags off when you are off roading when your angle may trigger them.

    Yes, probably by half.
I found a set of long tube JBA pre air injection on that fb group for 400$ free shipping!
So after piecing stuff together in my cart I think I’m close to or under 1000$
I will be doing the work/welding so that’s part of the savings I guess/headache

One of the guys in our 4runner group set all his off(4th gen before they had the button I think) and it’s crazy because the picture he posted, was something I’ve come close to doing while out on the trail, so I always try to remember to push it

How can you tell definitively if you have VSC or not? Vin lookup didn’t mention it and I’m 99% sure I don’t see a VSC light with ignition on.

It's tempting to try an aftermarket MC since they are half the price for me. The savings might be even bigger for you.

I’ve thought about it. I also believe my issue stems from the rear drum hardware and not my master. Have new adjusters and more importantly new adjuster springs ordered that will hopefully fix my soft pedal.

This attached file is the last time I know it was done.

I was planning on having front end rebuild done with new SPC UCA, Napa LCA, OEM LBJ, and new sway bar links if I can figure out what I want to use for that.

These sway bar links look spiffy. Thoughts?

Also, that button to the left of the two 4HI/LO buttons is a good indicator. That's literally the VSC button, from what I gathered when replacing my dash. trucks with VSC have a cutout at that spot. I had to return my 1st wood dash panel because I got the VSC version with that extra button.

I don't have current numbers, but I can feel that its out. Reason I went with the SPCs was as a preventative measure. My stock UBJ isn't at that harsh of angle, but I haven't had to do any emergency off roading in a while.

These pictures were right after the front grease rub thats why everything is wet/shiny. Plus it had been raining that day.
