In cole slaw? classic. In pickles? I'll accept it. In blackening rub, sure. For brisket, I've seen people use whole peppercorn, whole mustard seed, but never whole celery seed (yet). I know some folks like using ground celery seed in their bbq rubs, I don't dislike the taste. I'm one of those folks who don't like their steak 'au poivre', something about a coarse crunchy kernel makes me feel like I'm eating granola when I should be enjoying a slab of sweet, sweet meat.

 

It looks so damn goofy, though. Like, the adapter doesn't even fully fit the base of the tool. So bizarre. I can't tell if this unit was actually made for the tool or not.

I'm gonna call Dewalt about it today just to double-confirm this is intended.

 

They do look goofy, I've had mine for a few years though and they look better fitted to some tools than others.

 

I never did mention, I sold big dusty a few weeks ago. now I'm looking to get the Tundra back into towing shape. she's gutless as all heck with the 33s, hence the cold air intake and talk of regearing.

I've looked into it, the problem is it's a royal PIA. maybe I'll do long tubes when my brother is in that module of automotive tech next year.

 

It is very difficult to find a 1/2" drive set that isn't made in China and has the things I'm looking for. I want the extensions and the universal joint.

This set is nice but I don't know if I would regret getting an all metric set.

Yeah I keep going back and forth on how difficult it might be. This guy seemed to get it figured out.

 

I know I mentioned it before, but I'm really happy with my Neiko set. Supposedly they're made in Taiwan. And yes, you'll regret getting a metric-only set.

Yes I saved this one to my wish list after you mentioned it. I like it but when I checked it said there were made in China and Tiawan. So it's a crap shoot. I may have to just get past my China ban for sockets as it seems most are made there.

 

My JBA long tubes should arrive this weekend. I’ve been getting a parts list together, flow tech X pipe, two magnaflow cats(51206) two Borla XR-1 (401392) all 2.5” true duals and I will try to do the hiemholtz resinators. I guess I should put the o2 sims in a cart too.
Still need to get my buddy to cut out some 3hole flanges on his plasma table.

 

well if it's any consolation, my sockets are identical to my dad's Tekton brand, which are definitely made in Taiwan. Realistically, you're right, it's a crap shoot. I wouldn't put it past these companies to flat-out lie anyways. Kinda like the "made in USA" with Chinese parts scam.

 

I'm extremely inexperienced with exhaust. Is the X pipe what the back of the headers will connect to? And then on the other end of the x pipe will be the cats? I need BMF to draw me one of his pretty diagrams! Do you have a link for said X pipe?

 

So the x pipe merges the two headers together yes, it also helps with pulsing and exhaust scavenging for better flow

That’s from BAMuffler. See the “x” right above the mufflers? This is sort of the picture I’m mocking my system off of. But I plan on putting the o2 bung after the flange of the cat, so I’m not playing with it whenever I remove the cat for a straight pipe

 

That looks like a nice set with both deep and shallow metrics. All my impacts sockets are deep and wish occasionally that I had a shallow. I started out with these SAE and Metric sets ($30 each) and bought the impact extensions and wobbles separately from big gurrll for cheap (another $30ish).

The short sockets are nice to have if you can get a good deal.

I haven't gotten to troll in a while, so I'm gonna post this.

 

No sorries, it isn't hard to check in here occasionally and he just wasn't interested. Not everybody has fb, I never have and never will, so he's missing business by not appearing here.

 

I found one a bit quicker than I expected. This is a 3 owner 06 truck and the last owner had it for 12 years. It was about 3 hours north of me. The price was a bit more than I wanted to spend, $13,800 but the miles were lower than I expected to find as well at 118k. I was able to find a relatively rust free example that had 4wd, heated seats and the cold weather package.

I am coming from a regular cab tacoma from the same year. I sold it for about $1500 less than I bought this tundra for. The taco had a few more miles. MSRP on the taco was $18800 MSRP on the Tundra was $38000. Something is just not right with that.

The timing belt was about 30k over do so there will be more money in this to get it up to snuff. The brake fluid and tranny fluid looked a bit dirty so those are going to get done. The mechanic just got back to me with a relatively clean bill of health so I am feeling pretty good about the purchase now. I did drive 2 others and this one was definitely the more solid truck.

 

DC, 4x4, leather, heated seats, 118K miles, minimal rust AND a nice CAP? I'd say you got a great deal...if it doesn't have VSC you got a GREAT deal...congrats!!

LSD indeed. This will be new to me. My 98 toyota has a locker and my tacoma didn't have one damn option other than 4wd and a sliding window.

 

You got in what my opinion is the best Tundra ever...a 2006 4X4 DC with essentially every option EXCEPT the VSC. VSC is actually not a bad thing, but if it breaks it's stupid expensive...and since it's tied in with your brake MC, if that goes bad, it's stupid expensive too. GREAT SCORE!

 

The only thing that would make it better is if it was the same color as your truck. ^^^
