I had a really high pitch frequency sound in my truck so I did some digging and heard about the metal net inside the gasket. So I ordered a new gasket with the part number provided and my intake went from a high pitch noise to literally an intake whistle. I have a stock filter and box.

Has anyone come across this ?
    Thank you in advance

You sure everything went back together snugly? Might have a little leak. Also, did the new gasket have the rubber ring?

I thought that at first but I double checked everything. What do you mean by rubber ring ? It’s a rubber gasket

    thank you

I have the exact same issue on my 21 except I have the TRD CAI.

Yep the rubber gasket. Still sounds like it may have came off the seat. Did you open it when you checked? Mine was flimsy I remember.

What’s the part number? Pics of the gasket you installed?

You’ll need to upload it to YouTube first.

Toyota of Cool Springs has that listed as only working on up to 2019 models... I’m guessing that’s just a technicality but maybe something changed on the intake for 2020/2021? @Roman any thoughts?

Edit: just saw you have a 2019 OP. Not sure what could be wrong.

I installed the rubber gasket mentioned above when I installed the TRD intake. No whistle or issues on my 20. But, I'm not running the actual TRD filter, prefer the stock filter over the oiled TRD.

I wonder if the stock filter is why you don't have the whistle

Could very well be. Not to start a debate or thread jack, but I just don't do the oiled filters, I don't want to mess with re-oiling and from my limited research, a clean paper filter flows just as well and its easier to toss out the old and put in a new when dirty. Just my .02. I also removed the HC filter from the TRD box.

I removed the HC filter from the trd box also. I unfortunately don't have the stock air filter anymore to test.

Did you try the old gasket again to see if you still have a diesel?

@Airn890 did you ever resolve this? I have the exact same issue and it’s driving me nuts. Replaced the TB gasket with the one without the mesh and my noise got worse.
