What brand bumper are you rocking? I've been leaning real hard towards the Coastal Offroad DIY kit, but the lack of a spot to properly hang a license plate and no real good option for reverse LED's has me a bit hesitant. The reuse of the stock license plate lamps on your bumper is a nice touch too.

Took a look to see why my parking brake wasn't working. Driver's bell crank was broken and when I pulled the drum off one of the shoe retainers was broken. Had the bell crank anyway so I just have to grab a spare retainer tomorrow.

Worse problem is the passenger axle seal the dealer replaced 15k ago is leaking again. Not too happy about that so they're on the call list for tomorrow.

Took a toothbrush and about five drops of 3in1 Oil and scrubbed/coated the Power Steering Pump the other day. Popped the hood today and she looks brand new. Was a brown dusty rusty color before.

Yeah. I wire brushed and buffed all the pulley grooves when I did the Timing Belt. They were not too bad as I had done them about two years ago when I put on a new Accessory Belt. Had lots of rubber mounds built up on some of the stuff back then. This time was pretty clean. Guessing I’ve only about 800 miles on this Green one. One long tow trip and some short city stuff, but not a whole lot of driving lately.

Do you really tow that often? Do you service the rear diff more regularly?

Ajt has a cement option. But dang those meso’s are cool. Will any of the new style Toyota remotes program to our trucks? and then transfer the guts to the meso. It comes with a blank key you cut to match

I tow sporadically. Some times not much and some times a good amount. I’ve serviced all the fluids fairly regularly in the past. Just paid others to do it and can’t remember the intervals, but kept on it pretty good. Same with wash and waxing.

It only took about 5 minutes max. I also yelled at a kid walking on my newly seeded grass so that was a bonus.

3in1 Oil is magic stuff man. Couldn’t believe how new it looks today.

ran and picked up a K&N cold air intake last night. a dude was selling it for $60 with a new filter, so I figured why not. Cool guy. He was a tacoma guy who sold his '15 tacoma for a v8 FGT just like so many others.

Now my question is, do I run the K&N filter or is there another option that would be better? I've heard lots of bad things about K&N, but I can't seem to find any good information on what would actually be a better option.

Ha, I just gave away a K&N. The issue with the oiled filters is you inevitably end up with some oil getting upstream & dirtying up sensors in your air intake. Just find a regular air filter that fits in the space properly. More surface area, more air flowing, more filtering happening more fastering.

Someone posted a dyno showing the paper filter actually performing better than the K&N. I wouldn't run it.

K&N has dyne charts stating +14hp and +14tq on their website. I agree that I'm not a fan of the filters, but the intake has potential.

Yeah the video I was referring to is just the filter, not the intake. I don't really have an opinion on their intake but I would only run the Toyota filter personally.
