For some reason my larger back seat no longer latches down on its own. It latches up fine, and it latches down if I push down the seat. Does anyone know where the latch is on the back seat? Or has anyone else had this issue?

New truck and nobody has even ridden in the back, so I have no idea how it's so messed up...

You could swing by your Yota dealer to check it out. It's under warranty

Yeah, that's my next step. Was hoping there would just be an easy fix... Hope it's not just broken.

Probably an easy fix but it's new so let Yota look it over, besides while you're at the dealer ask for a discount on a Tundra/Yota hat they have at the parts department.

Crazy enough, this just happened to my 60 seat as well this past weekend, I thought I had to be the only one. It will lock up fine, but does lock down.

I had the exact same issue on my 2020 and had the dealer take a look on the first service. They ended up unbolting the seat, adjusting the position, and bolting it back down. It now latches in both positions. But, there is a bit of play in the down latched position, much more so than the 40 / passenger side which has zero up/down movement in the lower latched position. I'm not sure if the amount of play it has is normal but I'm planning to compare to a new truck at the dealer next time and decide then if I want to press the issue.

Just brought it by the dealership (different than where I bought it). They fixed it in ~10 minutes. The guy behind the counter (not the actual tech that worked on it) asked me if the leather was a cover because they had to realign the seat. He seemed pretty confident that someone had messed with the seat before.

It now latches down, but it did feel like it had a bit of play in it. I'll have to check it against the 40 in a bit after seeing your post.

Had the same issue, took it in twice, the first time they "adjusted" the seat, didn't fix it to my liking, took it in again and showed it to the mechanic, who then made the decision to order a new latching mechanism....solved.

Good to know, I may look into the same.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll have to do that too now. It worked for a day or so, but I put up my seat this past weekend and it didn't easily latch again.

Now I'm kind of just wishing that they had replaced it the first go-around. When you say order, did you have to go in twice due to them ordering one or did they actually have it on hand? I might just call first if they're going to have to order the latch...

I took it in the second time around, the master mechanic looked at it, and had to speciality order the item, they didn't have it in stock. Took about a week to arrive, and only an hour or two for them to install.

I just bought a 2024 Tundra and have the same issue and the dealer said it was a design feature, that it's not supposed to lock down and they can't fix it (or rather theres nothing to fix, because its not broken). They gave me a number to Toyota corporate, who told me they just file complaints and can't confirm the design, and to get a second opinion.
