2007 Tundra SR5 RWD 5.7l ABS and break lights on

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and also to Tundra. I got a used/abused 2007 tundra to learn about trucks(my first truck). It had quite a few issues and I fixed some of them. currently the biggest concern i have is code U0129. ABS and Brake light are lit(solid) and the speedometer and the odometer isn't working.

Above code translates to 'Lost communication with the Brake system control module A'.

Is that the reason for why speedometer and the odometer not functioning? are the speed sensors connected to the break system control module(by the ABS pump)? is this require to replace the whole ABS/control module unit? or replacing speed/abs sensors would fix the issue?

 

I'm having similar issues with my temp reading above gone as well. AC switches inoperable. Let me know if you learn anything.

 

I think this happened with mine way back under warranty and the dealer replaced a wheel speed sensor?

 

Do you recall if you were able to shift out of park? Went to oreillys and they said it was wheel sensor but i failed to note down the obdII code. They also failed to mention which speed sensor.

I'm having to unlock the gear shifter with the manual lock to the left of it. Weird. Will need to drive down to stealership, it seems.

 

May be missing a CAN bus box somewhere or unplugged, or fuse is fried may require some fishing on the driver side kick panel.. not popping out of neutral is a safety switch problem located on top of the transmission, someone was seeking information on something similar yesterday or the day before will try to link.

ah. Found a blown 7.5A fuse under the driver's side kick panel (ECM IG No.2) I am hesitant to reinstall it since I have not found the real culprit and most likely will blow again. I do recall sliding my driver seat back the moment all these lights came on. May have to remove driver seat and look closely. Thanks for the link.

 

Look for a loose ground which may be causing a trip... look at the engine grounds too, ensure they're clean and tight..
